About KONG Puppy Teething Stick

KONG Dog Toys

KONG Puppy rubber is customized for a puppy's 28-baby teeth and is the softest within the KONG rubber toys. The KONG Puppy Teething Stick is made to fit into a puppy's mouth and gently clean teeth and soothe sore gums. Add Easy Treat or peanut butter to the Denta-Ridges for extended play.

Dogs Need to Play

A dog's physical and mental development are influenced by a healthy, instinctual need to play. Built for durability, KONG dog toys encourage play and offer enrichment, meeting this natural need to play.

KONG Solutions

The KONG Classic is a great next step for a puppy that is ready to graduate. KONG encourages dogs to focus energy on healthy engagement, helping prevent unwanted behavior by providing a mentally stimulating, physical challenge that keeps dogs occupied and mentally challenged.

KONG Stuffing

Did you know that anything that is safe for a dog to eat is safe to stuff into a KONG? Here's how:

STUFF: Stuff loosely for beginners or tighter for more advanced users (w/KONG Snacks or your dog's favorite kibble).

ENTICE: Use a tasty appetizer such as KONG Easy Treat or peanut butter.

ENRICH: A stuffed KONG offers mental and physical enrichment.

EXTEND: Want to extend playtime? Freeze for a longer-lasting challenge.

On the package it says that the toy is not suitable for dogs under 10 months old, but the description here talks about it being good for teething puppies. With supervision, is this you safe to give to puppies under 10 months?

My 16 week old puppy chewed through this and ate a piece within 10 minutes of giving it to him. I am at a loss for what to get him. I’ve tried every puppy Kong. He still manages to use his teeth to dig pieces out. And I’ve been told puppies should not be given any regular dog toys until their adult teeth grow in because the regular rubber is too hard for their teeth and developing jaws. I’ve spent so much money on puppy toys!

Gone in 3 minutes

My 6 month old puppy chewed the end off in less than 3 minutes. It left the toy with sharp edges and had to be pulled from him immediately.

We got our new 10-week-old puppy several toys for chewing, to prevent as many household casualties as possible. Most of the dog toys that we had/have for our other dogs are KONG, and they were able to withstand our other heavy chewers in the house (one being a 90+ lb GSP). Logically, I went for mostly KONG brand puppy toys for our new little guy, based on previous purchase history with KONG. With a variety of toy options, he switched back and forth on favorites, and this one was just never a big focus. He would play with this for a few minutes and then move on. One day, he had decided to focus on this toy, but after about an hour or so, he had CHUCKS out of it. I immediately took it from him, as he was eating the pieces and they were all over the place. I am super disappointed because I really love the concept of this toy. I think it's adorable that they mimick baby keys, which is why they were the first toy to enter my cart when ordering toys. Unfortunately, the material that this toy is made of, is just not up to the KONG standard, and was not able to withstand the razor-sharp puppy teeth.

Not for teething puppy

I had high hopes with it being Ling brand. Our teething puppy chewed it up within minutes.

Not durable for aggressive chewers

Had it one day. My puppy is an aggressive chewer and already chewed some of the plastic off. Went into the trash!

I have a 3 month old Golden Retriever and she had this toy for 4 hours and it started coming apart! Chunks of the plastic were missing. She has not vomited and is going number 2 without issue, thank goodness. This could have turned out really bad had I not been paying close attention. I can’t believe Kong put out such a crappy product. I am completely disappointed and highly recommend that you do NOT buy this product.
