Is the hole in the base the same diameter on all the different sizes?

Answer by ChewyMar 21, 2018
The hole in the base is approximately 1 inch in diameter on all the sizes.

If your dog is Between sizes, would you go up or down? Our lab is ~60 lbs, but also not yet fully grown. It’s hard to say if he’s maxed out on his weight and height (9 months old). He’s an aggressive chewer, and I’m trying to find the best balance between challenging and “give up” if it’s too much.

Answer by ChewyNov 11, 2019
If your pet is an avid chewer, or in-between sizes, it's recommended to size up by one or two sizes.

what is the length and width of all sizes

Answer by ChewyDec 26, 2018
The dimensions for the Small size is 3 x 1.75 inches, the Medium size is 3.5 x 2.25 inches, the Large is 4 x 2.5 inches, the X-Large is 5 x 3.5 inches and the XX-Large is 6 x 3.9 inches.

Are they BPA free?

Answer by ChewyJul 20, 2019

Repeat buyer due to product quality and durability

I have purchased a few of these in a couple of sizes and so far only one dog has ever succeeded in damaging one (I own two dogs and have fostered multiple others). I keep a couple in rotation because filling and freezing them helps keep them busy when I leave. Like any toy, it’s important to supervise especially in the beginning, but Kongs are one of two products I trust won’t end up destroyed or partially digested by my dogs ( may vary by dog/use/situation).

My 10 month old 64 pound "puppy" has found this ball to be a challenge. And the best part is that as an active chewer, he has not been able to destroy it. It doubles as a ball which makes play time fun. I put an average size dog biscuit in it and he has yet to figure out how to get it out. So it is a good occupier of time.

I am never without a Kong if I can help it.

Best chew toy for our dog. Though we do have to get the extra lg or bigger. Found that out with the purchase of the large. Takes Tokyo two days to have this chewed

Best chew toy for our dog. Though we do have to get the extra lg or bigger. Found that out with the purchase of the large. Takes Tokyo two days to have this chewed into pieces. Fortunately he does not swallow them. He spits them out. We have to remove the kong and give a new a one.

Sadly, I guess our dog, Ace is not your average dog. This is the 3rd time we have bought a Kong for him. We gave it to him for Christmas and 15 minutes later he had chewed off the top portion. He's worked his way through the entire thing! We never got the chance to fill it with peanut butter or treats! Anyway, lesson learned. But please don't advertise it as indestructible because Ace can prove you wrong.

Great for filling, but not chewers

With my pittie babies 2nd birthday approaching, I had been eyeing the Kong Extreme line for a few weeks, in hopes of finding some tough toys that could withstand my tough chewers and keep them busy for a while. These were good to fill with treats or spray cheese, but once the easier to reach parts had been licked clean, both dogs wanted to shred it in order to make sure they got it all. for the price, it stung a little picking up the pieces, but i knew i was taking a risk with these 2.

Smaller Than Expected

We had gotten one of these Kong Extreme Dog Toys from another store and we love it. I wanted to have a second one on hand because we freeze the food inside them and he gets them when he's crated. This Kong Extreme (while listed as X-Large) is smaller than the one we got elsewhere. I am too nervous to leave this one in his crate with him when we are not home.

We have been using daily for almost 9 years, but in the last year or so my dogs have chewed and the bottom has split from the segments regularly. Last month I had to dispose of 12 that split. Ordered 8 more and 3 have already split. So disappointed especially since I contacted company and they are of no help.

Long lasting

I meant to buy the bigger one BUT it worked out since I was buying it for travel in his intermediate gunner kennel and I think the bigger one would’ve been uncomfortable

I meant to buy the bigger one BUT it worked out since I was buying it for travel in his intermediate gunner kennel and I think the bigger one would’ve been uncomfortable since he knocks it around the crate and sometimes ends up laying on it. It was JUST right for travel. Happy accidents are the best
