Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.
My dog and I love playing fetch together, and he adores this toy a lot! I especially love the way that it bounces kinda crazy so he moves around a lot trying to catch it, it makes for some great exercise! I was slightly disappointed because Kong’s toys are usually a lot more durable, so I can’t let Pistol Pete have it for too long unless we’re actively playing together. I would still highly recommend if your dog loves fetch, just be prepared that it’s definitely not a chew toy like most Kong toys are!
The XL is surprisingly heavy and awkward to throw but I’ll put that in the “I’m a girl” column. It appears to be great quality. Unfortunately my dog has no interest in it. I’m not sure why she doesn’t like it. She loves squeaky toys and chasing thrown balls/etc. She just will not go after this one.
This is my second time buying these. My Boxer pups LOVE them. Cooper fetches and Maddie follows him carrying one in her mouth. They play with them outside every day. And they play with them until they are worn out (the pups AND the toys). Much easier to throw than regular balls with the open area. Durable and nice vibrant colors so you can see them in the yard easily.
My 60 lb Rottweiler mix had a hole in this within 5 minutes I'm so disappointed I bought three different toys, the football, the flying disc, and the jumbler ball I haven't given him the other two yet and he will probably tear them up as well so disappointed!!!
My 3 Danes love it especially one of them. She carries it around all the time and it is VERY DURABLE! She still has not been able to puncture it it is great!
My dog's really enjoyed this football. The only thing is the thin Parts on the side they were able to chew those right through within 2 days and the football was destroyed it's not a tough toy. It's not made for dogs with strong Jaws.
Cooper, our 88lb Great Pyrenees pup, has given this 2 paws up. It's easy to throw and with the 2 indents, it is easy for him to grab and carry. So far it's held up well even with his superman strength jaw grip. As with most of his toys, he is supervised while playing with them.
He’s loving the toy so far. It was smaller than I anticipated, but I’ll watch him each time he plays w/it. Hopefully it’ll last more than a day.
I have a 40 pound 1-year old pit-lab and he is an aggressive chewer. The squeaker broke within 5 minutes but I'm happy about that because OMG was that annoying. I have to say though, the football material is fantastic for my dog! He's able to puncture it with his teeth, pull out, and there will be no marks and the football is still intact 2 weeks after purchase. This is his FAVORITE toy now.
My dog usually destroys toys in no time. Although squeaker broke in a couple days, he still enjoys playing with it
