I thought this retractable leash would be perfect for my large pity mix and was so excited to find it and receive it. When I got the product I noticed a dehp warning on the back, dehpx on your endocrine system and can cause damage through skin contact. I feel very frustrated that otherwise good quality products are made with chemicals that will harm my body and my pet's body, and it's regular business. It's unethical and I expect more. Back it goes.

This is a rugged product as I would expect from KONG, but the retraction mechanism leaves a lot to be desired. In short, it rarely retracts automatically - you constantly have to tug at it to engage the mechanism rewind the lead. Sort of defeats the purpose!

This leash is amazing. I have 2 strong dogs that have broken each retractable leash I've used. I needed retractable leashes for a new place we're moving to. I wasn't very enthusiastic about having to buy new leashes. I saw the Kong Retractable and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. My boys have pulled and yanked on these leashes and they have handled everything. I had thought I would never buy another retractable leash, I was wrong and am glad I was.
