Description

Get your fish healthy faster with the Kordon Rid-Ich Plus Disease Aquarium Treatment. This medicated formula combines formalin and zinc-free chloride salt of malachite green—two powerful ingredients proven effective in treating common diseases in freshwater and saltwater fish, like Ich and white spot, plus external parasites and fungal infections. Since it’s more effective, you can use less of it, and decrease the chances of lowering dissolved oxygen in the water, which can stress your fish. Plus, it won’t affect biological filters and is safe to use in saltwater and freshwater fish.

Key Benefits
  • Dual-strength formula controls Ich and other external protozoan, dinoflagellate and fungal diseases of freshwater or marine fish.
  • Combines formalin and zinc-free chloride salt of malachite green for higher efficiency so you can use less, and is safe for fish sensitive to malachite green alone.
  • Won’t interfere with biological filtration systems so it helps keep your aquarium or pond water clean.
  • Great for treating fungal infections, white spot disease, Ichthyophthiriasis, Costia, Trichodina, Chilodonella and saltwater external parasites such as Cryptocaryon and Amyloodinium.
  • Made in the USA and is easy to use, and totally safe and non-toxic to fish in aquariums and ponds.

Instructions

Shake bottle before using. A partial water change (25% or more) before each treatment will ensure more effective results. Siphoning old water from the bottom of the tank near gravel level where Ich tomites can be found is the most effective method for water changes. Remove carbon from filters during treatment.

  1. Dose: Add 10 drops per gallon (3.78 liters) or 1 teaspoonful (approx. 5 mL) of Rid-Ich Plus for every 10 gallons of water to be treated - this produces a concentration of 0.05 mg/L malachite green and 15 mg/L formalin. The standard treatment is once every 24 hours.
  2. Repeat the full dosage as needed.
  3. Do not increase or decrease the amount of the dose. For stubborn cases, shorten the time between treatments to once every 12 hours.
  4. For delicate or weakened fish, use caution when shortening the time between treatments. When treating for ich, continue treatment for 3 to 4 days after last visible signs (white spots) of the disease have disappeared.
  5. Protein skimmers need not be turned off during treatment.

Contents treat 960 gallons of average water conditions.

    Brook trout cured

    By on

My brook trout got ich when the water temp rose to 68 degrees and they ate a bunch of infected bait fish. I bought two 16oz bottles of rid ich and lowered the water temp to 55 deg. I provided the product in accordance with instructions but only did a 15% water change. I have a 160 gallon tank... i provided 32 oz’s of the rid ich over the coarse of about to 10 days which was about 1 ich cycle. My fish cleared up and are as heathy as can be! I couldn't be more happy as i thought they were goners.

    Effective Ich Treatment

    By on

I used Kordon Rid-Ich when my pond fish were infected with Ich. After 7-8 daily treatments the Ich was gone, and even the worst-affected goldfish (fins half gone) have recovered. It's very effective, but also very strong; I'd suggest making sure your water is well-oxygenated to help the fish cope with the treatment.
