I have been looking for a senior supplement for chickens, and never found any before. I have a 11yr old hen who was developing arthritis, and i wanted to try a supplement before meds. I found these berries and decided to try them and after a couple weeks, her symptoms almost vanished! I started her on just 4 berries a day and she's jumping on play structures, and acting herself again! She's been on these for 3months and I haven't had to change the dose. 100% worth it for the price, the larger bag lasts a long time. The only thing I would change is the size of the berries, I have to crumble them up other wise she flings them everywhere. Otherwise I highly recommend these for anyone with elderly chickens!!!

My chickens are not "senior", but I was interested in this product. I've tried seed balls before with my chickens with little interest before. These are smaller, more " "clumpy" and less uniformed and can fall apart more easily. That being said, my chickens LOVED them! I love that you can see the multiple ingredients (rather than just a single ingredient seed ball). My chickens pecked at them right away. Enrichment wise, I recommend these. They eat them quickly, lasting just a few minutes. I was able to fit them into a suet holder as well. I would purchase again.

I have several older chickens so I was excited to try the Booster Berries for Seniors. The ingredients are beneficial for older chickens, as well as younger ones too. Cilantro, lemon balm, milk thistle and dandelion root to name a few. I put a couple down on the ground and they appeared a bit bewildered at first. My oldest chicken began to peck at one of the "berries" and managed to break a small piece off and ate it readily. I ended up breaking several apart, and put them in paper bowls. They enjoyed them much better in the bowls than they did foraging them whole on the ground. I'd have given them 5 stars if I hadn't had to break them up. I plan to offer them whole again but I'm thinking I may have to break them up for them to enjoy, which is a bit of a pain. If someone had a small flock, I think it would be worth breaking them up for them to enjoy.

I have several different pens ranging from tiny little bantams, spoiled ornamentals and large fowl chickens. The tiny bantams liked them, but seemed to get bored quickly. The ornamental chickens(silkies & satins) did not care for them. But the large fowl chickens LOVED them!!

My birds had so much fun with these treat balls! I have quite a few red rangers and they tend to gobble up food quickly. These actually slowed them down as they picked away at the treats. A lot of good ingredients in the balls. Corn is the first ingredient, but visually, there was only some corn pieces in each ball. I’d also prefer no animal by products if possible.

I scattered the balls out in the grass and sidewalk to see if the chickens would find them and eat them. They all went crazy rooting them out and eating them! I have a mixture of old chickens and young ones and they all enjoyed their treat. It took a while for them to peck the balls apart but they weren't bored! The balls seem to be the right size for them to peck apart with some effort.

Good nutrition for a small flock

While these aren’t my chickens favorite treats they do eat them and I like knowing they are getting some extra nutrients in their diets outside of their normal feed

While these aren’t my chickens favorite treats they do eat them and I like knowing they are getting some extra nutrients in their diets outside of their normal feed and foraging. They take a little longer to eat these as I think they are skeptical about the look. But eventually they do eat them. They seem to be made of quality ingredients but the suggested amount (4-6 berries per chicken daily) would deplete this bag quickly. So it’s definitely for a small flock or just as an occasional treat if you have a lot of chickens.

We have a flock of senior birds that are 10+ years old so we thought these treats for our seniors would be perfect! They are made into little portioned balls, which is great because each bird can have one without any stealing each other's portions. These include joint support and several herbs along with other protein rich ingredients.

ALL my chickens loved these treats! Old and young, they are busy finding and devouring them. It’s easy for them to find them in the grass and weeds. I have one really old Rooster so will save the remaining ones for him since he will benefit from the extra nutrition. Quite a bit of treats in the 10 oz bag, all 17 chickens pigged out and plenty left for the “Old Man”.
