So my cat Pumpmin had a B12 deficiency and lost quite a bit of weight. I decided to try this supplement to help him gain his weight back. I do one scoop mixed with boiled chicken breast that has been through a food processor, and his hard food. He doesn't eat large portions at all. It takes him all day to eat 3/4 cup of food. If that. So him getting the necessary calories in a small amount of food is necessary. None of it is unhealthy calories, but filling calories. This supplement stimulates his interest in food to where he will now eat 1/4 cup in the morning for his first eating! Huge improvement.

My cats wouldn’t eat

I couldn’t get either of my cats to eat this willingly. I had to thin it out and syringe feed.

Well, let me start by saying I got this to help with my 11 year old MaineCoon mix. I recently took him to the vet to see why he was feeling a bit off. While all his blood work came back perfect, he had lost a couple of pounds. So I've started using this to see if we can get those pounds back and keep him a happy and healthy kitty like he deserves to be. I've dusted his treats, and I put a little in his wet food, and he seems to like it just fine. It is very easy to mix in both the dry treats and the wet food. The powder sticks very well to the crunchy treats. It doesn't really have a scent to it to me which is good since a cat's nose knows when it smells funky. ฅ(^•ܫ•^)ฅ I have 2 other furbabies, while Curly Joe doesn't need any, I put a little bit in Larry's food, he could stand to gain a couple pounds. Larry was definitely the runt at just over 10 pounds and he and Curly (12lbs) will be 6yo next month. I believe that the powder is actually encouraging both Thor and Larry to finish their food all at once instead of coming back and finishing. ฅ( ̳͒•ˑ̫• ̳͒)ฅ So hopefully this will do the trick, so far it seems to be doing the trick.

Unfortunately, my cats weren’t impressed. I really wanted the Lafeber EmerAid Sustain Feline Recovery Food to work, especially because of the nutritional profile and how highly recommended it is for recovery. Unfortunately, none of my cats seemed interested, even when I tried mixing it with their favorite foods. I love the idea behind it and appreciate the quality ingredients, but the taste or texture just didn’t appeal to my picky eaters.

I have a very picky 18yr British shorthair that needs to keep weight on. She didn't even wait until I put it on her food to start eating it. I put it on her kibble and in her Fancy Feast and she devours it! It has helped her eat in the week I have had it and even my other cats like it as well. It is a very fine/clumpy powder that reminds me of my protein powder. Haven't made it into liquid yet but if the need is there I will try it.

This food was a hit with my kitties! They really liked the taste. I also noticed that there was no vomiting after eating; most times, especially when trying a new food, one of my kitties tends to vomit. He did not do that with this food. I have only tried one bag, but so far, so good. I think it will take longer to see the real benefits of feeding this food, but I am satisfied so far.

I’m using this on my older girlie (almost 15!), as a higher calorie addition to her regular meals. She is very picky, so I was worried she would turn up her nose, but I mix it into her wet food and she eats it no problem. I like that it’s a very fine powder, so it doesn’t add bulk to her portions since she doesn’t eat as much as she used to. The option to make it into a slurry and syringe feed it is a bonus, and gives me peace of mind should there be an emergency.

This product is great for emergency needs. It is a high quality powder with the scoop included for easy of measurement. The directions on the back for use are clear. I use this as a very occasional treat for my older cat with gastrointestinal issues because it does not upset his sensitive stomach. It would be an excellent product for rescue organizations or those dealing with feral colonies and may need additional nutritional support.
