As a long time GSD owner, I have typically used the same leather leash for years on years. I wanted a possible upgrade or renewal but could not remember the brand of my personal leash. This leash is 3/4 of an inch…which is fine…but overall does not seem the most sturdy. I would have liked to see thicker leather, but that’s my own fault on hoping for better. I wouldn’t recommend for BIG dogs, my pup is going to get up to 100lbs easy…at the moment I’ll probably be purchasing from soft leather
My puppy chewed up my original leather leash I had form several years. I ordered this as a replacement, but, it's not as nice as my old one. Seems cheap and has a funky smell. Had the leash form 10 days and it still stinks.
Deffinately dissapointed. I thought it would be thicker and softer not flat
I needed a new leash for training purposes and this seemed to fit my needs in length and durability. The leash is long enough and the leather piece seems sturdy so far (maintaining in the rain). However, the clasp hook is difficult to open and frequently gets stuck where I am unable to unhook or hook the leash to her collar. This can sometimes end with her taking off still attached and wrenching her back.
I purchased pink leather leash. The leather color is very pretty and has a protective coating. Looks great however the clasp is not a sure, tight close on collar ring. I noticed this after I went to remove the leash from the collar my first try walking my dog. The bar of clasp toes out and when I examined closely could actually allow a small ring to pass through. I decided the risk was too great and scrapped the leash. I would have returned however I had trashed the box it came in so wrote it off to lesson learned. Lesson, buy a leash you can touch and test in person.
For a 2-1/2-month-old Husky puppy - teething really badly so the leash is a welcome tough thing. Plus using it for training, and the leather smell is closest to smelling like me to enforce me as Alpha. Well-made and thick!
Slim, weak item. 50lb pup ripped through it in 5 minutes.
I needed the strength of leather for my leash training sessions with my chow. I needed a leash heavy enough for her to feel when I pull it in different directions. This is a very nice leash.
My trainer recommends a leather leash. 20+ years ago, leather leashes were easy to find. Today, not so much. I love that I was able to choose one in my puppy's "signature color."
Love leather leashes . Great in training a dog and easy to hold. Very strong for any type animal
