Was really excited to be able to use this for the summer, but this item does a terrible job of closing magnetically and staying closed. It also doesn't fit properly on the sliding door. It leaves too many gaps and isn't secure enough. The material used isn't great and tears easily. Would not recommend at all.
We got this screen to put in front of our sliding door so the dogs and cats could go in and out at will. The screen went up easy, but the magnets never quite had a tight seal in the middle. After less than a week of the dogs going in and out, the mesh ripped, and within 2 weeks, it was completely destroyed and had to be taken down. I guess we got our $20 worth, but this product has no durability.
i put mine up yesterday and this morning a good portion of it was hanging down already, the sticky part doesnt hold on very well. its awkward that the opening isnt in the middle, too. it works for what i needed it to, but there’s probably better versions out there than this one
An online drawing with measurements would have been useful. We are using this mesh product because it has finished edges, right overall measurements and includes velcro strips to mount it. Despite reading the specifications carefully and telephoning, I was not able to determine where in the mesh the door opening, with its magnetic clips, would be. For this size (green box - patio door) it is not in the center but at about one third distance from the vertical (height) edge. It would have been helpful for me to know that in advance because I would have instead ordered the larger garage door mesh for my project. For the smallest mesh - blue box, it is seems as if it is in the middle, meaning the two panels are the same size.
Wondering why we didn't get these sooner! They hold up to our 3 Rottweilers going in and out all day long, magnets keep the screen closed while the fresh air comes in. A must if you enjoy opening your house and enjoying fresh air.
Tacks hold great and makes for easy access once trained
Cons: The magnets are very bulky and ugly but, aesthetics aside, one of them fell off already after just a few days of use. This says it fits doors up to (however many) inches wide and that it can be trimmed to fit. The issue with that? It really doesn’t fit ALL doors up to the advertised width. Instead of a wide solid strip to adhere the velcro to, you have the option of several thin solid strips. If one of those isn’t conveniently placed at the exact width of your door then you can’t use the adhesive velcro and need to modify this by driving the wood tacks right through the mesh. That means you can never take the screen off in the Winter without pulling some nails out of the door frame. Speaking of the wood tacks: the heads are covered in the most fragile of plastics. They break no matter how gently you try to drive them into the wood. They also bend incredibly easily. About half of the wood tacks were not usable and we had to substitute nails that we had on hand. Once installed, it mostly does its job but the bulky magnets allow for gaps all down the opening. It definitely reduces the number of bugs that get in but it’s nowhere near as effective as real screen door. Pros: My dog can let himself in and out as he pleases. We can now get a breeze through our French doors.
