Amazing calming treats!
I have a 6 yr old ottb that is very reactive to other horses running around having fun. After using these treats for two or three days in conjunction with a calming supplement I have a completely calm and mellow horse. He definitely still has his moments but he’s finally able to relax!
Work IF your horse will eat them
When I first ordered these my mare ate a couple and I did notice an overall calmness, she wasn’t as nervous or reactive but this new bag, not one horse in my barn will eat them and these are horses that usually eat anything! I have tried it on at least 8 different horses and they all refuse to eat them.
I can't review if these work or not because my horse refused to eat them. This is a horse who will eat anything and he wouldn't touch them. They smell very strongly like vitamins and no matter what I did to them he wouldn't eat. I even soaked them in molasses to see if he would eat them, nope.
My Donkey was extremely abused before he come to me 8 years ago he’s still slight afraid of people. After giving theses to him he’s just less anxious. They smell disgusting !! But he eats them as long as they’re fresh.
Works for both of us.
My horse is a little enthusiastic. To prepare him to listen better to me, I give him two when I get to the barn. I don't have to catch him. He no longer bumps me with his head or get overly excited. He is quite happy with the flavor. I have been using this for a year and a half.
Why that title? Because apparently the horse has a nervous tummy. When we give her this prior to riding she settles more easily and leaves far fewer piles for pickup.
Spit Them Out
My mare refused to eat them. She's usually a cookie monster, but i tried several times and she didn't like them.
Kalm Peppermint Wafers
I thought my horse would like these because he loves peppermint. Unfortunately, he acted like I was trying to poison him. He gave me “the look” and then he spit it all out.
So glad Chewy is carrying these at such a great price! I was skeptical, but these work for my horse.
