Been using this for years on my senior Belgian draft mare with PSSM. Just add some soaked hay pellets to get them to eat the meal. In the winter I mix 50/50 with the pelleted version, otherwise she doesn't always finish up. Keeps the weight on her just the same as more expensive products, and i appreciate that they offer the meal at a reduced price than the nuggets/pellets rice bran since there is less processing/cost involved. Highly recommend for metabolic horses and hard keepers!

My horses eat this supplement readily and it seems to be helping my older horses keep the weight on this winter. I feed it both soaked (my two old guys get soaked grain) and dry and they all eat it willingly, even my picky eater. It can be a bit dusty, but not too bad and I haven't noticed them coughing at all - the texture is similar to cornmeal.

Positive Product

This is a great product when introduced slowly. It helped keep weight on my senior pony over the winter. Follow feeding instructions to avoid any discomfort.

We have been feeding the Manna Pro Max-E-Glo Stabilized rice bran meal granules to our thoroughbred who is a hard keeper, especially in the winter months. This product has been a great supplement mixed in with her regular grain at feeding time. She has maintained her weight very well this winter and the addition of the healthy calories without having to add more carbs is an added benefit.

Rice bran has really been on the rise for horses with weight issues, I was glad to try this for my 38 year old. So far it’s been palatable, he eats it without a problem. I use some water in the grain to help it adhere and being powder. You are supposed to give 3/4lb for maintenance, which ends up being quite a bit of powder in the grain, if your horse already doesn’t get a lot of grain, you may wanna try the pelleted version instead. I did try this with my picky horse, just to see if she’d eat it and she does everything in her power to avoid it both dry and wet. So, if your horses tends to be picky, this may not work for you. So far I like it, you can’t really go wrong with rice bran for weight on an older horse or harder keepers if they will eat it.
