11 Customer Questions
How do you use this for fishes? I have a 65 gallon tank.
Answer by • Oct 23, 2017
Use 8 tablespoons per 10 gallons of aquarium water. Place in media bag or media basket and rinse thoroughly in cold water to eliminate dust particles. Replace every 2 - 3 weeks (sooner if foul smells or water discoloration occur).
Is this a good product to use in a goldfish tank to help keep the ammonia low? Do I still use carbon in my filter systerm?
Answer by • Apr 07, 2018
Dual-action chemical filter media keeps pond water clean, clear and fish-safe. Marineland Diamond Blend Carbon-Ammonia Neutralizing Blend combines fast-acting Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon and super-effective White Diamond Blend Zeolite for superior pond water quality. It effectively removes dissolved organic waste and odors as well as toxic ammonia and chloramines. For best results, fine media must be placed in a mesh bag inside of the refillable media container to avoid leakage into your aquarium system.
How much would you recommend for a Betta tank of 5 gallons?
Answer by • Aug 10, 2021
The manufacturer recommends 4 tablespoons for a 5-gallon aquarium.
I see I have to add 8tablespoons for every 10 gallons, My question is if I have a canister filter and my filter carries 3 carbon pouches do I need to add one pouch of this product and the other ones just fill with regular carbon or do I just fill the other two pouches with this product?
Answer by • Jul 02, 2020
This will depend on your individual tank or filtration needs. If you have goldfish, it is recommended using this in place of just carbon for all three pouches since goldfish produce a lot of ammonia. The same is recommended if you have a brand new tank or a tank having an ammonia issue. For day to day average filtration, one pouch of the blend with two of carbon is suitable.
