Durable and nice
By breann on Dec 6, 2020
Love this leash! I was on the hunt for a new leash that is reflective, has a padded handle and is strong and this leash checks all those boxes! The only reflective parts on the leash is the stitching but honestly, that is plenty as it is super reflective. The padded handles are nice to the touch and the additional second handle closer to your dogs collar is sooo nice! I have an American Bully that loves people but is sometimes hesitant towards other dogs so this is a nice feature to be able to get better control of him at times. I will say that it is definitely not 100% chew-proof, however it is super durable and strong.

Perfect Leash
By Jeni on Dec 29, 2020 Top 1000 Contributor
We have 2 of these leashes and they are awesome! I love the 2 handle design. We live on a busy trail and the lower handle is great when we're passing other people on our walks. The handles are padded which is a great comfort for our long walks. I frequently use the metal loop at the top to thread a second leash through and then over the handle to connect 2 leashes together so I only have to hang on to 1 handle. It's made with attention to detail and is great quality.

Too heavy for small dogs/puppies
By Sarah on Dec 30, 2020
We bought this because it came highly recommended by Wirecutter (the NYT product review website). I think it is indeed an excellent leash, but unfortunately it is way too much leash for a small pup. The fabric of the leash and the metal clasp are very sturdy and thus very heavy. Our 7lb mini poodle puppy can't enjoy her walks on this leash because she spends the entire time trying to get at the heavy clasp on her back; she does not do this with her other leash. We now use this to leash the dog to restrain her in my partner's office when he's working.

This is a great leash!
By Bucky on Jan 8, 2021
My pawrents bought this for me as a Christmas gift and I love it when they take me out for walks. It helps them when they are training me too! Nice thick leash and the dual handles work great for them.

Not very sturdy
By Casey on Dec 21, 2020
I purchased a similar leash at a store and thought this was the same thing. This one had very little padding on the handles and the second handle was too far down.

Not as described
By Jeanne on Nov 4, 2020
The only reflective material is the stitching, which is quite insufficient. This product is not reflective! The only reason I gave it any stars is that I love the double handle feature.

Perfect Leash

This leash is exactly what I was looking for. It's well built and comfortable in my hand. The extra loop helps me bring my dog in close when needed.

Good quality overall, but problem with connector clip
By mamajets on Sep 10, 2020
The leash part is very sturdy and well made overall, but I have had problems with the clip that connects the leash to the ring on the dog's collar- it's somewhat loose and does not stay closed, such that the collar ring can slip out of the clip, which disconnects the dog from the leash. A carabiner or other type of clip might solve the problem, but that requires an additional level of connection/disconnection. I had another leash like this for 15+ years and never had any problems with it. And I have not contacted the vendor to request a replacement to date.

Love this leash

We live in an apartment building and my dog isn’t a fan of bikes. This leash is great so I can keep her close when there are bikes around.

Some pros and cons
By AmyG on Oct 15, 2020
I’ve been walking our pooches with this leash for a week now and have also looked at similar types in the pet store. We have a very reactive 70 lb German/Australian Shepherd mix pup who is a bit of a chore to walk. He needs the daily training and exercise, so finding a leash to help manage keeping him at my side was a top priority. Our other dog is a blind adult Irish setter mix that is around 50 lbs. I was hoping this leash would also help me manage our zig zagging blind girl, but she doesn’t like bouncing off my leg, she needs a bit more lead than the short loop allows, and the heavy clip dangling at her neck/shoulder was too much for her. The short loop is, however, the perfect length to keep I’ve been walking our pooches with this leash for a week now and have also looked at similar types in the pet store. The short loop is, however, the perfect length to keep my reactive guy close and gives me enough room to change my grip position. So pros for me are that it is very sturdy and the short loop length is perfect for my big guy. Cons are that it’s got some rough/sharp areas that scratch or irritate my hand (I’ve thought about clipping them or filing them to try and get a smoother surface but don’t want to compromise the strength) and that they only make this in a 6 ft overall length. I was previously only using 4 ft leads and would really like to see a shorter version available. I found another brand in a pet store that is soft but sturdy in a 4 ft length, but the short loop was too short and would have made it seem like I was holding the dog right at the collar. Overall this has solved my reactive pup control issues, since I am less fatigued he gets longer daily walks and is behaving better than ever on leash. He even sits at my side when I stop walking now so it has been a great training tool for us at a reasonable price. I do think that they could make it softer without compromising strength which is why I wanted to give 3 stars, but I added a star back since they donate a leash to a shelter for each one purchased. … more
