Feed to hedgehogs at a rate of at least 50% of their daily dry matter intake. Feed intake will vary based on animal body size and life stage, level of activity and environmental temperature. Supplemental food items, including insects, vegetables and fruit, can be fed at 25% or less of the total diet. If feeding live insects to the animal, ensure the insects are gut-loaded prior to feeding out. We recommend gut-loading with: Mazuri Better Bug Gut-Loading Diet Always feed along with fresh, clean water. Storage Conditions: For best results, after removal of desired dosage ensure polybag seal is fully closed, tightly affix lidon canister or store contents of open bag in container with sealing lid. Store in a cool (75oF orcolder), dry (approximately 50% RH) location. Adhere to the Best if used by date or use within 1 year of printed lot code.
Initially, soaking the extruded Mazuri Hedgehog Diet in water (2 parts water:1 part dry diet) may help to transition animals that are used to soft/moist diets. After 1-2 weeks on soaked diet, move to 1 part water: 1 part dry diet, and 1-2 weeks later, offer dry diet. If moistened, replace diet twice a day.

My hedgehog loves this!

I have been feeding him another brand of food that I have seen on Chewy, he was eating it for a while, but I think he had gotten tired of it because I saw it dumped over quite a few times in his cage. I decided to try and different brand and bought this one and he loves it! He finishes his whole bowl!

My hedgehog loves this food! But you do have to add in something else since it is a supplement so we add some fried mealworms which she loves! The only thing why I did not give it 5 stars is because it makes her use the bathroom a lot, which is also good for her. This food does smell bad but you’ll get used to it! Overall amazing food.

We'd found an abandoned hedgie at our apartments dumpster area & decided to take him in. We'd decided to try mazuri because we hadn't had a hedgie in years & wanted to give it a go since we'd heard great things about it. Sebastian LOVES it & did right away! His weight has picked up (was thin, vet said probably poor diet/care from last owner) & he's more active and has healthy poops. This is definitely worth every penny!

my hedgie is obsessed and I am happy for her but this does have a high fiber content which is the only reason why I 4 star this. amazing food to be honest it is grade a quality, I just wish she wouldn't poop as much when she is eating this food :/

When I got my hedgie at 6 weeks, I was told to feed her kitten chow. After taking her to the vet a week later, he told me to switch to Mazuri because it was specifically for hedgies and was the brand preferred by many zoos. She eats all of her food daily, she goes straight to her bowl when I feed her. With the kitten chow, she ate less and was less interested.

I've kept hedgies for over 20 years & it was a well known fact that hedgehog food was awful so we've fed cat food instead. My vet has been pushing Mazuri hedgehog food for a few years & I didn't try it because the ingredients seemed to be mostly fillers. My vet is very knowledgeable about hedgies so i finally gave it a try. Over 6 months my chubby hedge lost 1/4th a pound! She's maintaining a perfectly healthy weight, has lots of energy, fur & quills look great. She's also still getting bits of poultry, fruit, fish & numerous feeder bugs. It's time to stop feeding cat food. Hedgehogs now have a good food designed for them.
