    My parakeets will eat it

By Jill on Aug 17, 2021

I was having trouble with an older parakeet with an overgrown beak. I had read that that may be a sign of liver disease so I knew I had to get my birds off their seed only diet. I went on to Chewy and started ordering a multitude of different products for them to try. I happened to open a different bag of pellets first and they absolutely refuse to eat them. I was worried about this brand of pellets might suffer the same fate but they have taken to them right away. Yaay Mazuri! Thank you Chewy for the variety!

    Mazuri Pellets

By AndersenAviary on Sep 11, 2021

I love Mazuri Pellets. It comes in different sizes for different size cage birds. I have used Mazuri pellets to feed my 400+ birds for 15+ years now. It's still the best pellet for all my birds, I have Canaries to Macaws and so many more.

    Special Bird food

By Bert on Jun 25, 2021

I ordered this bird seed for my elderly aunt. She wanted to send you cash. I opened an account for myself because I can order for her and order items for my own cat. She does not understand the computer world. The bird seed took quite a while to get to its destination. Her & I were not happy about that, but realize once it leaves your site, you have no control. Her bird is doing well. Thank You

Took a couple days, but my lovebirds love it now

By Mick on Dec 13, 2020

This was my first time buying a pellet food for my lovebirds. They're die hard seed eaters and insanely picky when it comes to new foods. I mixed this in with their seed, and at first, they picked around it. Gave them a couple days, and added an almost equal ratio of seed to pellets, and finally, they gave it an exploratory nibble. And that's all it took. They love the pellets now, and have scaled back the seed eating, in favor of the pellets. I've never used this brand before, and was a bit hesitant, since they rejected the Roudybush brand outright, and regardless of what I mixed in with the Roudybush, they still wouldn't touch it. It takes effort to get a bird to eat new food...

By Kooky on Sep 27, 2020

birds won't want to eat healthy unless you make them (in a positive way, without forcing them) the number of people I meet that say "my bird doesn't LIKE pellets, so I feed him seed" really makes me sad. or I hear "pellets are nutritionally complete!" gross. pellets should be a SUPPLEMENTAL food in addition to a mostly fresh food diet. saying pellets are a complete source of everything a bird needs to thrive is like saying protein bars are a complete source of everything you need to thrive. that being said, the quality of different pellets is not equal. the top leading cold-pressed pellet company actually has alfalfa as the first ingredient. NOT easily digested by parrots, it will actually upset birds won't want to eat healthy unless you make them (in a positive way, without forcing them) the number of people I meet that say "my bird doesn't LIKE pellets, so I feed him seed" really makes me sad. or I hear "pellets are nutritionally complete!" gross. pellets should be a SUPPLEMENTAL food in addition to a mostly fresh food diet. saying pellets are a complete source of everything a bird needs to thrive is like saying protein bars are a complete source of everything you need to thrive. that being said, the quality of different pellets is not equal. the top leading cold-pressed pellet company actually has alfalfa as the first ingredient. Another thing I’ve noticed is “the pellets are too small for my bird!” in truth, a macaw could eat pellets the size of sand. honesty this is not an issue in the wild. why? because in the wild they aren't spoiled... they simply need to learn that its still food. the mini size for me works for all my flock, all the way up to an Indian ringneck, sightly larger than a sun conure. … more

This IS the mini bird diet, pellets are small and rounded

By Lorraine on Oct 3, 2020

Some of the answers to the questions suggest otherwise, but I can confirm this is the mini bid diet and the picture of the pellets shown is what they look like. They are all small and circular, no oval shapes or bigger pellets. Anyways, this is a solid pellet diet. I like pelleted diets because they are healthier for birds than seed diets. It's not my birds' favorite, but it's their staple diet and they're used to it after eating it for months. Make sure you transition slowly if you're going from a seed or partial seed diet, as they may refuse to eat it if you go cold turkey.
