Extremely Poor Quality Now
I've purchased this cat food for years because I have a cat that has absolutely loved it. However, when I received my most recent purchase of it, and opened up one of the containers, I found a soupy mixture that seemed to be 98% water and 2% meat product, instead of the hearty mixture I had purchased in the past. Of all the products whose quality has decreased dramatically in the last two years, this product has been one of the worst. I'll never buy it again.
Quality has changed
For years, I've bought this product and a variety pack same brand for my cats, but when the packaging changed, so did the quality. All the ones called "Tenders in Sauce" are oily soups with barely any texture, and my piggy, food aggressive fat cat will actually leave the feeding room when I put one down and leave it for the other 2 cats. I thought they were just bad batches, so got it 3 times and it still sucks. So disappointed.
Won't touch
Both cats race to lunch, but this one Salmon & Crab flavor screeches them both to a halt. After they initial one lick, now when they smell it, it sits there until I throw it out. They'd rather go hungry. There other flavors are gobbled up!
Finally found it!
Our cat, age 17, used to love this flavor, and we could easily find it in stores. She is on a renal diet now, but appreciates a change now and again. I decided to search for this in stores because she really loved it, but sadly could no longer find it. Thankfully, Chewy had it in stock and she is happily reunited with this old favorite!
Now more chicken than fish
The Salmon and Crab as well as the Tuna and Shrimp used to be called Tender Favorites. Not only have the changed the name and lid, they've changed the formula. Currently Chewy is showing the updated lid but they haven't changed the ingredient list to reflect the new formula or the photo of the ingredients. My photos are the new ingredient labels. Both are now more chicken and broth/liquid than fish and the cats won't eat them.
Still introducing it
My cats love all seafood - sometimes too much. They gobble this up so fast, they sometimes bring it back up, so I'm learning to introduce it slower and in smaller amounts. It should be a winner which will bring the star rating up!
Looks Yummy
My cats sorta like this food. They only eat wet food that contains broth or gravy. The consistency is more mealy than brothy. Nothing wrong with the food, they are just really, really picky.
Meow Mix Salmon
Was a favorite until the last shipment. The last shipment was all soupy and no chunks of salmon like before. Also caused my cats to have bowel issues 😞
Formula changed and is horrible
Why did the formula change? This cra* is now horrible!! My cats are turning up their noses at it. Now have to look for something else. Chewy should have warned buyers about the change. Cats have sensitive noses and stomachs. Not having my 4 fur buddies barfing all over the house for this watery mess.
Great dry food topper/snack
Kitties love it. Thought it was a solid/pate kind of thing, but once I realized it was a sauce kind of thing, makes for a great snack or food enhancer (for picky cats) also good to add to dry food, for a bit of change.
