I've read that peppermint oil is toxic to dogs but it is listed as an ingredient here?

The Coconut oil and botanical oils (peppermint oil, lemongrass oil, and rosemary oil) freshen breath in an all-natural way. In small amounts, peppermint oil will not harm your dog.

My dog really didnt take to these like I thought she would. She will probably finish the box but morw than likely wont purchase again. They seem like good quality

Suspected cause of severe colitis

I have bought these chews on and off for a few years now, rotating between the two flavors (coconut and mint.) I typically don't give these to my dog daily, but

I have bought these chews on and off for a few years now, rotating between the two flavors (coconut and mint.) I typically don't give these to my dog daily, but she recently ran out of her regular daily dental chews, so I gave her the green/coconut flavor daily instead for about a week or so. On two separate occasions (once in 2021 and again in 2025), my black and tan coonhound developed very severe colitis and began having frequent, painful, bloody diarrhea. I discovered that both times this happened, she was eating one of the green Fresh Kisses Infused with Coconut Oil & Botanicals daily. This time cost us almost $1,000 in vet bills to treat my poor elderly dog, and after tracing back to the last time she had colitis, I am quite certain that these treats caused all of this turmoil. She never had an issue with the "mint" flavor, but the green "coconut" flavor has both lemongrass oil and peppermint oil in it. The "mint" flavor does not have these oils. I would use caution when feeding this to your dog and will be avoiding anything with these oils in them in the future.

My dogs like these, and they last an expected amount of time for large breed dogs that like chewing (gone in about 3 minutes). The reason for the lower rating is really only bc they make my dogs sick every time they get them. At first I wasn’t sure. But I’ve re introduced a few times and yes, it’s these. I really wanted them to work out and ofc I put them on autoship thinking they would. But *both* of my Boxers vomit constantly after eating these every time. I’ll be contacting chewy to ask if it could be a bad batch? But I figure they would let me know about a recall. It’s probably something in the ingredients that my dogs aren’t used to.
