Most of their ingredients come from the USA, however, in certain circumstances some ingredients may come from another country (like lamb from New Zealand) to ensure the highest quality possible. Each and every ingredient must meet Merrick’s own rigorous quality standards. Ingredients are tested upon arrival, samples are tested throughout production, and all pet food is tested before its released for sale.
Is there sugar in these treats, smoke flavoring typically has sugar.

The ingredients are: Deboned Beef, Potatoes, Peas, Potato Protein, Potato Starch, Organic Cane Molasses, Vegetable Glycerin, Brown Sugar, Cultured Whey, Sunflower Lecithin, Gelatin, Flaxseed, Pea Fiber, Safflower Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols), Citric Acid (preservative), Carrots, Salt, Potassium Chloride, Natural Smoke Flavor, Apples, Blueberries, Inulin, Rosemary Extract.

Great Training Treats

Ordered these as the training facility I bring my dog to requires small, soft/chewy treats. These treats are a perfect size and my German Shepherd puppy can eat them quickly and then focus back on what we're doing. I just wish the bag was a little bigger so it would last longer. Will continue to buy in the future.

Perfect for training

My dogs love these, one of them doesn't have many teeth and she is able to chew them. I also use them for training, they are the perfect size

Perfect Size!

These treats are my Chihuahua mix's favorites—and mine, too. I love that they're only 1.7 calories per treat and small enough for his little mouth. I was concerned for a long time about finding training treats that would be low-cal enough to allow me to give him about 10/day given that he eats very little, and these treats strike the perfect balance of size and health considerations. I have the chicken, turkey/duck/chicken, and beef varieties of these rewards, and though he likes the others better, these work really well as a protein variant. They don't have a strong scent, which is fantastic for me, yet he still becomes extremely eager to please as soon as he sets his sights on them. These treats have a good firm texture—not too chewy or soft—which is great for to help preserve and even clean his teeth. Plus, the ingredients are so healthy and they have a good amount of protein, which is important for toy breeds. You also get a really good value for your dollar, given the size, as each bag comes with tons of them inside.

One likes these treats; one won't touch them. Then again, the first will eat anything and the second is only wants cheese if it's smoked gouda.

Both of my pups love these treats. They are soft enough to break in half, if needed. The calories are low enough to use freely when training them.
