Works for me
I've had this crate for over 3 years and it still looks good and does the job. I have a 25 pound dog and got the large kennel so that there would be a lot of room. I see all these negative reviews. These kennels are not made for dogs with major behavior issues! For the price you pay it is totally worth it!
Classy. Quality just OK. Best for already crate training dogs.
Pros Nice looking crate, looks great in the living room. Fits my large dog, (65lb) no problem. Really affordable for what's out there in wooden crates. Works well for a dog that's already crate trained and won't try to break out. Cons Kinda cheap material. If my dog wanted I think he could break out. Not recommended for containing wild dogs. The latch doesn't fully match up, annoying to close sometimes.
Garbage!! DO NOT BUY!!
I bought the largest size available hoping that my dog would grow into it however after just a month and a half my 30 pound 3 month old German Shepherd was able to break the bars. This thing looks nice and that's the only thing it's good for. Absolute trash. I can't believe I paid premium for something that is supposed to hold a large dog and can't even hold a puppy.
Great Size, Acceptable Quality
I want to love this, but I’m going to say it is acceptable. Quality of the metal is great but the wood is barely held together with dowels, no glue or screws. I intend to glue and clamp soon to make the panels more sturdy. I did have to replace the latch as it was so loose my 18 month old toddler could hit it and unlatch it. I do love the size. We have a male, 65lb German Shorthaired Pointer (medical alert service dog, so very well trained) who is tall but doesn’t need the length and width of an XL crate. He does great in this kennel. I would not advise it for dogs that have any desire to escape as they will be able to get out. There is no base to this kennel, just the plastic tray, and the top is simply set in place; this makes it easy for a riled-up dog to bust out. It was packaged very nicely for shipping and even with rough spots on the box there was no damage. Overall I was between *** and **** due to quality of construction and inability to keep a riled-up dog inside. Older or calm dog? This will be great for you.
Wow junk is the word
We put it together and it was nice. We went to move it to another part of the room, and it fell apart. Screws came OUT of the wood. it is JUNK
Nice, but came damaged.
Recently received this crate. It’s nice—true to color. Unfortunately, it did come with two significant scratches on the back of the crate. I noticed it was a complaint already mentioned in the reviews, so it appears to be a habitual thing. I’m debating on whether or not it would be worth my time to send it back or just deal with it.
Pretty but fake cage
I bought 4 of these. The screws on the door hinges stripped out on one cage immediately, loosened on the other 3 over a couple of months. If you buy these cages, pick up some epoxy wood filler at the same time. None of my dogs ever fight to get out of a crate, if you have one that does, even a 10lb one, this thing will be in pieces within 24 hours. The first ones I had, that were cages surrounded by wood lasted for years, I am going back to that after this $600+ mistake.
If ZERO was an option.
It was very weak and made with cheap material.Definitely wasn't worth the amount I paid.its extremely wobbly and 3 of the bars have fell off just trying to open the cage door. Highly disappointed.
Dog Furniture Crate
We absolutely love this crate. It was so easy to put together. And it matches our furniture. Definitely recommend it.
Cheap, not sturdy, unsatisfactory
I do not recommend this dog crate. It is not sturdy at all. My we’ll trained GSD got excited and broke the door super easily. I paid $400 for two of these. They aren’t worth $50 IMO. They scuff really easy, the wood is fake. The stain faded in a weeks time! I’ve had the crates for 1 month and they are already trash! I hope chewy makes it right and refunds my money.
