About METACAM (meloxicam oral suspension)

Ease the Pain Of OA

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a painful degenerative joint disease in which joints become inflamed and swollen. Dogs with mild OA may have slight stiffness, while those with more severe cases may suffer from limping and lameness. The bones and joints most commonly affected are the hips, knees, elbows, shoulders, and spine. METACAM (meloxicam oral suspension) can help control pain and inflammation associated with OA in canine companions who are 6 months and older (1).

The METACAM Difference

METACAM is a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) designed to relieve canine joint pain and help restore your furry friend’s natural, normal movement. It is available in a whisker-licking, honey-flavored liquid that’s easy to administer. With METACAM, giving the precise veterinary-recommended dose to your dog is easy—you can provide safe, effective relief without worrying about splitting pills to find the correct dose.

Effective and Accepted

METACAM is proven safe and effective with over 1,000,000 doses sold (2). One small dose of METACAM provides effective pain relief to help restore your furry sidekick’s mobility all day long.

Don't Surrender To OA

While OA can’t be cured, it can be effectively managed with pain-relieving medicines as part of a multi-modal approach. An NSAID, like METACAM, is just one part of the solution. Your veterinarian will help you determine the best combination of diet and weight management, exercise, physical therapy and lifestyle adjustments to help your dog live more comfortably, and become more active!

Important Safety Information

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: METACAM (meloxicam oral suspension) is for use in dogs only. Repeated use of meloxicam in cats has been associated with acute renal failure and death. Do not administer additional injectable or oral meloxicam to cats. As a class, cyclo-oxygenase inhibitory, NSAIDs may be associated with gastrointestinal, kidney, or liver side effects. The most common side effects reported in field studies were vomiting and soft stool/diarrhea. These are usually mild but may be serious. If side effects occur, dog parents should halt therapy and contact their veterinarian. Dogs should be evaluated for pre-existing conditions and currently prescribed medications prior to treatment with METACAM, then monitored regularly while on therapy. Concurrent use with another NSAID, corticosteroid, or nephrotoxic medication should be avoided or monitored closely. The safe use of METACAM in dogs younger than 6 months of age, dogs used for breeding, or in pregnant or lactating dogs has not been evaluated. Please refer to the prescribing information for complete details.

About METACAM

Veterinarians have recommended METACAM for over 20 years. This liquid NSAID helps dogs with OA get back in the game. The liquid form is easy to give, and it lets your vet determine the lowest possible dose that will be effective for your dog. Dosing is convenient and accurate—no more splitting pills! Shipping was an absolute mess, I had typed in my address wrong and immediately messaged chewy, was assured it would be corrected and it wasn’t. I messaged them again and it still was not corrected and the delivery service kept bouncing my delivery all over the place. It arrived a week and a half late, I had to get a whole new bottle from my vet at some ridiculous price because we were out of it. it was my fault for the mistype but I attempted to correct it 3 different times with chewy and it just kept trying to be delivered to the wrong address repeatedly.

Very Poor communication in when my pets meds would be delivered.

This medication was promised delivery earlier than when it arrived. It showed that it was in transit for delivery right up until I called your customer service line

This medication was promised delivery earlier than when it arrived. It showed that it was in transit for delivery right up until I called your customer service line & was told that it was "probably not" going to be delivered that day. I even sent an email about it but I haven't gotten any response, just like I won't get any from this review!! If you need something fast, DO NOT TRUST Chewy's promised delivery dates. They couldn't care less if your pet gets the meds or not. They've already gotten their money from you.

Chewy sent me a bottle of Meticam for my dog’s pain/inflamation that expires in 4 months!!! That is not acceptable!!! I called and spoke to the pharmacist and she said she did not have any more Metacam with a better expiration date than the one they mailed me. She credited me a large amount of the purchase. Not acceptable to send somebody medication that’s about to expire. If I hadn’t looked at the label, I would’ve given my dog expired medication and then wondered why it wasn’t working.

Started Max on this a month ago and he is doing so much better and getting around easier. Hoping that you get a larger bottle of the .5 as it only comes in one

GREAT pricing for a med which helps my old dog maintain quality of life

It's a liquid anti-inflammatory which relieves arthritic pain and which is easy to administer via a syringe. My old dog would seriously suffer without this med
