Miconazole nitrate is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections in dogs and cats caused by Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
Serious side effects of miconazole spray use are not expected. Stop using miconazole spray and have your pet examined by the veterinarian if the pet experiences unusual or severe blistering, itching, redness, peeling, dryness, or irritation of the skin.
Avoid applying other topical medications at the same time unless told to by the veterinarian. Other topical medications may affect the absorption or effectiveness of Miconazole.
Avoid contact with eyes. Always wash hands after application or wear gloves when applying. Do not allow your pet to lick or chew at affected areas for at least 20-30 minutes after application.

Miconazole.
Spray affected areas from a distance of 2 to 4 inches to apply light covering, once daily for 2 to 4 weeks. Medication must be continued until the infecting organism is completely eradicated as indicated by appropriate clinical or laboratory examination. If no improvement is noticed within 2 weeks, a diagnosis should be re-evaluated. Difficult cases may require treatment for 6 weeks.

Miconazole Nitrate is a lotion or spray used in the treatment of skin fungal infections.
Miconazole Nitrate lotion or spray is a topical preparation. Apply a light covering of the lotion or spray to affected areas as directed by your veterinarian. Application with a cotton swab is usually recommended.
Miconazole Lotion is an antifungal medication that damages the outer covering of the fungus, ultimately causing its death.
Treatment generally requires 2-6 weeks. If no improvement is seen in 2 weeks, contact your veterinarian. Treatment should not be discontinued until laboratory tests show the fungus has been killed. In severe cases of ringworm, oral medications may also be used.
