MidWest Cozy Crates

A Cozy Crate for Every Home

As instinctual den animals, it's important for dogs to have a comfy place to nest. Crates also help with potty training and reducing habits like chewing or barking, while providing a safe, den-like home for your fur baby. MidWest designs their crates with safety, security and comfort as their priority. No matter the age of your dog, you're sure to find the right fit for your unique pal.

Convenience and Comfort, All in One

For a lightweight crate that requires no tools, folds flat, and still has the security of heavy-duty slide-bolt latches, look no further than the MidWest iCrate. It’s made for easygoing dogs and even comes with a divider panel so it can grow with your pup. Pair that with a removable, ease-to-clean plastic pan, sturdy carrying handle, and surface protective rubber feet to create the recipe for a crate made just for your dog.

A Crate for All LifeStages

Made with heavy-gauge steel and wire mesh, MidWest's Life Stages is a sturdy cage that can offer extra security. Rubber rollers protect your floors while a sturdy carrying handle makes it easy to move before your pal gets in. With rounded corners to protect your dog, slide bolt latches to keep him safely inside, and a divider panel that can be moved—and removed as your pup grows—it's a crate for all life stages.

Secure, Sturdy and Safe

For optimal security and safety, the Ultima Pro is MidWest's most durable crate, made of professional-gauge steel designed to stand up to chewers and stronger dogs. The dual door access allows your dog to enter and exit on either side—but only when you say so! Your dog will feel safe and cozy in this retreat, made just for those pups who need a little extra safekeeping.

What size crate for a 20 pound dog

Answer by ChewyMay 01, 2020
To find the appropriate size crate for your pet, it is recommended to measure the length of your dog from nose to base of their tail. When measuring the length, be sure to add approximately 2-4 inches to the overall length, depending on the size of your dog, so they may turn around easily. To determine the height of the crate you will need, measure your dog from the top of the head to the ground. Then take these measurements and compare with the sizing chart below:

My handle was not connected can you tell me where is goes and how this slide door locks?

Answer by ChewyOct 25, 2018
There is a slide over latch to close and lock both doors. The door opens up so with a handle that latches it closed on the outside. Please refer to the picture below where the handle should be placed.

Is this crate approved for international travel?

Best solution to tail banging crate

Our pup likes to go in and out of her crate at will, which meant the door of the old crate had to hang open with constant bangs from wagging tails and clumsy humans

Our pup likes to go in and out of her crate at will, which meant the door of the old crate had to hang open with constant bangs from wagging tails and clumsy humans. This is so great and all crates should have this kind of door. I’ll never buy another kind.

I love that the door to the crate goes up and rest on top. I have two dogs and with my old crates one of them would close one of the doors to the crates. They would then fight about who got to sleep in the crate they could get in to. With these crates they can always access their crates.

I love this crate. It's sturdy and well made. It allows my dog her own private sanctuary while still allowing her to see what is going on around her. Best of all, the door goes up and on top of the crate so it's there but out of the way. Easy to assemble, too. I'm so glad I found this crate!

I like the space saving feature of the "garage-style" door on the Midwest Ovation crates, but the crate pans that come with it are thinner than cardboard and very easy for the dogs to tear into small pieces starting at the edges until a large (5 x 5 inch) section is destroyed. These dos do not shred soft toys or their crate pads, but they like tearing these pans apart. I have used Midwest crates for yers for puppies to adults and never had this issue in the past.

I wanted this in a small apartment, knowing I would want the door open most of the time. The door is out of the way and that's awesome. I struggled to put it together there was a thing caught on something and it was hard for me to figure out what was wrong. Once I got it, it came together easy. The only way I would improve the product is if the door was completely removable and slid all the way out. We put it right next to our couch and it would be cool to set a coffee cup down on it. No big deal though.

Disappointed.

Arrived pre-opened, a bit bent and also broken. Bending was needed to even be able to open it, unfortunately.

It was tricky to set up at first and the garage door is clumsy and loud when I try to put the baby to bed. I am hopeful I will like it once our puppy is a little older and potty trained. Until then, we must close the door during the night after each potty break and it has not been fun.
