About Modesto Milling
Modesto Milling was established in 1974 as a dairymen’s co-op. In 1997, a group of local dairymen convinced the Board of Directors to start manufacturing organic dairy grain mixes. By January 1998, Modesto Milling gained its organic certification from Oregon Tilth of Salem, Ore. They became the first organic grain processor in Central California, and ever since, Modesto Milling has been manufacturing high quality organic feed for many different types of livestock.

Modesto is Scratched
I have increased my flock size and was really excited to find Modesto Milling Scratch with the help of your customer service staff but I have to say that their quality has gone down hill. The last three bags have been more corn powder than seed and one bag(which Chewy did replace, TY) had bugs in it. I had gone to the Modesto because Henny Penny is continuously out of stock and on permanent back order. I understand Chewy is not responsible for another company's quality but have to say I am reluctant to purchase this again. Sadly, this product went from Hero to Zero
Good except for...
My hens and rooster love the scratch, EXCEPT the CORN! The product label say non-gmo, but my chickens will not eat yellow corn. They will eat white corn. I've been led to believe that all yellow corn is a gmo product. Is this true? If so, then how can the scratch containing the yellow corn be non-gmo?
Colorful Variety
My flock prefers this scratch mix because of the addition of sunflower seeds and milo. They pick out what they like out of other mixes which are mostly corn and wheat. They do not like the pea grains. There is noticeably little left from this colorful treat.
Not even wild Turkeys will eat the corn
I was really excited about getting this as I have heard great things. Chickens will not touch the corn they eat everything else. Unfortunately, it is mostly corn. No other wild animal will eat it either. I am so bummed.

I've been a customer for over 9 months and am so grateful for great, fresh product assortment and consistently reliable, on time delivery. Also, pleasant and immediate assistance from Customer Service. The convenience of receiving 50# bags of feed where needed is wonderful!
great scratch but pricey
My girls love this and I love that it’s organic! I bought it as part of a promotion, it would be too expensive for me to buy all the time. Looking for a cost effective way to give the girls organic treats.
My chickens love this
My chickens of multiple ages love this scratch. I throw it into an area for them to scratch around every morning and they follow me like puppies and eat every bit of it. While they do prefer corn and will completely pick it out of any food that has it mixed into it, they actually eat all of the ingredients in this scratch.
Can't recommend
My hens ate the few sunflowers out of this and nibbled at a couple of other things, but mostly wasted it. It's very powdery and not worth the price.
Best Scratch Ever
We are newer chicken owners. (Just hit 1 year this month!) We try to buy only organic foods for our birds. After all, they make us Food every day!! Amazing. Our chickens love this scratch and we love that all the unnecessary and harmful ingredients have been omited from this particular scratch. We also lacto ferment the scratch to make it even better for our birds.
Wrong item sent (sent layer pellets, not scratch). Pictures are conflicting.
The images associated with this item are conflicting. THe first shows a bag of layer pellets, identical to Chewy's "Modesto Milling Organic, No Corn, No Soy Layer Pellet Poultry Feed By Modesto Milling." However, the title of this item is, "Modesto Milling Organic, Non-GMO & Non-Soy Scratch Chicken Treats," and the second and third images show scratch. I was sent layer pellets, so I'm about to initiate a return.
