About Modesto Milling

Modesto Milling was established in 1974 as a dairymen’s co-op. In 1997, a group of local dairymen convinced the Board of Directors to start manufacturing organic dairy grain mixes. By January 1998, Modesto Milling gained its organic certification from Oregon Tilth of Salem, Ore. They became the first organic grain processor in Central California, and ever since, Modesto Milling has been manufacturing high quality organic feed for many different types of livestock.

Not great

My turkeys who will eat the wall didn't like this food. It was not crumbles its more like crumbs. I like the ingredients more than the others but it sadly didn't

Love this but now it's unaffordable

My Coturnix chicks that I started on this feed did very well! Everybody was really healthy. I appreciated that there was no corn or soy in it, and the aviary did

My Coturnix chicks that I started on this feed did very well! Everybody was really healthy. I appreciated that there was no corn or soy in it, and the aviary did very well too when I mixed it in with layer feed. I could justify it when it was only $40 for 40 lb but now it is $60 for 40 lb. That's just too much. I don't know if it's just selective pricing for me because I was getting free shipping, or if it's $60 a 40 lb bag for everybody. But it's just too much. Back to square one.

I bought 3 day old coturnix quail from a breeder. I felt their rapid growth and feathering, vigor, and calmness were at least partially attributanle to the good

Organic says it all

Every other year I raise 2 turkeys and until now I've not been able to find organic starter for them. A Local feed store told me I'd have to special order this -

Every other year I raise 2 turkeys and until now I've not been able to find organic starter for them. A Local feed store told me I'd have to special order this - the only organic starter I've found - and it'd be 4-6 weeks before I'd get it. Chewy to the rescue! 4 days! And when it was going to be late, they made up for it! My little turkeys will have no poisons in their bodies - ever. Thank you, Chewy!

Thanks Chewy for offering these types of organic specialty feeds without overcharging. I have a farm of heritage turkeys, geese,ducks and chickens. I order this and also the whole grain non soy/corn feed from modesto. Both are great. I mix these feeds and ferment them. I also get whole organic peas to mix in. I feed this mixture to all the birds not just the turkeys, they love this stuff. Cant really beat the price for organic either on autoship its a $1.18 lb. Thank you so much.
