Good quality very nice aroma

We are keeping our production breed layers past the two year mark and they do very well on this extra level of protein they seem to excel on it. We do have to supplement

We are keeping our production breed layers past the two year mark and they do very well on this extra level of protein they seem to excel on it. We do have to supplement calcium as usual especially for ours as they tend to lay eggs like there’s no tomorrow. The crumble size does vary from bag to bag but even with the dusty bottom of the bag we just mix in a bit of water and the ladies think it’s a feast

( EVEN IN WINTER MINE KAID DAILY-- fresh spinach from store) helps their liver and kidney process the GRIT "they need for hard eggshells" thst do not fall apart in ones hands; the grains.... NOT necessary! bugs or worms.... yes!!! I raise laying hens. for eggs.

I have been using Nutrena Naturewise products for years, for my chickens, pheasants and Guineas. All of them are happy and healthy. I’ve seen cheaper products out there, but am hesitant to change because all the birds are great! Happy to see Chewy is carrying ALOT more poultry feed than they used to, and I can have these heavy bags delivered to my door!

I was not sure if my babies would eat this as I had not change foods before in them , but they loved it. They ate it up and it kept the crumble consistency.

I'm a huge fan of Nutrena NatureWise products. I tried out this meat bird formulation for my dual purpose birds. They really love this formulation. They normally eat pellets but the crumbles were just fine. Every bag of Nutrena I buy is always fresh and well received by the ladies. Since I have been feeding Nutrena, going on 2 years, my birds seem to be doing better, healthier weight, feathers, good production. I would recommend Nutrena to any backyard chicken keeper, the range of products is great and this meat bird formulation is no exception.

Consistent Nutrition

I used this solely with my 2nd group of summer quail and noticed a LARGE difference between the average weight on our birds in comparison with the 1st group. For

I used this solely with my 2nd group of summer quail and noticed a LARGE difference between the average weight on our birds in comparison with the 1st group. For reference, with both groups being A&M quail, there was a discrepncy of up to 8 ounces. The average 1st group sat at at 10.6 oz, and the average weight on the 2nd group (with the Nutrena) was 13.8 oz. In terms of quality, there was less dust and the quail would stay fuller for longer. I also noticed a decreased scent from their droppings, whereas the previous groups we have done in the past in addition to our 1st group were notably rancid. Our quail are split inside and out, so when they are indoors, this was fantastic to experience. The calcium residue seemed consistent with our 1st group, so there was not an excess. Lastly, we found that the amount of constant itching (due to being indoors from storms, etc.) was not as dominant with our 2nd (Nutrena) group. For those raising larger quail, the protein and crude amounts seemed to be perfect. For smaller/standard quail breeds, I would recommend this as a mix.

It’s important to note that this is for meat birds so if you have a mixed flock with layers, supplement with some oyster shells for calcium. This mix took me by surprise when I first opened the bag. It had a strong herbal smell to it that was familiar but I had a hard time remembering what it was. The closest I could come up with is how black licorice smells out in the wild. The crumble has a nice texture and my flock didn’t make a mess out of it compared to some other crumble I’ve used in the past. My bantams loved the size of the crumble and my roosters loved the high protein in the mix. I have noticed an increase in lay egging. Before, I was getting 3 eggs a day from my flock and now it is 6-7 eggs a day. My flock also really enjoyed the generous amount of cracked corn that’s in the mixture. There’s really no negative aspect to this product or ways I could suggest improvement. It does what it needs to, my flock loves it and I’m getting more eggs from my happy chickens.
