Why is this so highly rated?

I can't believe I fell for a nearly $200 litter box. I moved to a new house and with the new layout, I wanted to shift to a top entry box. Well, two out of three of them won't use it, including the heaviest cat (even though this is the XL, he won't go inside). And my bobtail, who isn't the most agile. The only one that uses it is my most active cat, and he's indoor/outdoor and uses it the least! By the way, it's not that large for being "XL". It's a regular sized litter box. My personal experience aside, the set up is infuriating to clean. The top only hinges to open half of the lid, so you're elbow deep in litter to get any clumps at the back of the box. Or you have to scoop through the top hole and litter falls out everywhere. If you have all the time in the world, maybe you like the look of it, and you can take the time to remove the lid to scoop daily, this could work for you. But I'm a mom and I run a business, so that's not my lifestyle. I feel duped and hope others avoid the same frustrations. I'll be bringing back my 10 year old $19 regular litter box.

a pain to empty

I liked the idea of reusable bags but after having this for a couple of months, it is a pain to clean and put back together. The clips the bags attach to are flimsy

I liked the idea of reusable bags but after having this for a couple of months, it is a pain to clean and put back together. The clips the bags attach to are flimsy and I am afraid each time I take the bag out I am going to break one of them. I really wanted to like this box, but I just cannot recommend it to other cat parents.

I keep both the front and top entrances open for him but as he gets bigger to be able to jump out of the top more easily I may close the side one.
