What spf is this?
Answer by • Jun 19, 2017
They don't use an SPF number since they don't want their product associated with human sunscreen. Zinc oxide, which is safe for humans, is highly toxic to dogs. This product is designed to protect from the harmful rays of the sun as well as help heal and moisturize their skin.
I can't seem to find the ingredients anywhere. I'm severely allergic to coconut, and need to be sure this doesn't contain any (or derivatives ). Can anyone tell me what is in this?
Answer by • Jun 18, 2017
The ingredients in the My Dog Nose It! Sun Protection Balm are; Octinoxate USP 7.5% (derived from Cinnamon oil), Oxybenzone USP 3% (derived from Benzoic acid, from gum benzoin), Carnauba Wax from the Carnaubeira Palm leaves, Corn Starch from corn grain, Ethylhexyl Stearate from coconut oil, Hydrogenated Castor Oil from castor oil, Ozokerite from earth wax, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Schhinziophyton Rautanenii (Mongongo) Kernel Oil, Silica porous sand, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, and Talc earth mineral.
I see there are dog sunscreens for dogs on Chewy that have an SPF that claim not to be harmful to dogs so how can this product not include an SPF and still be effective. Many veterinarian's recommend you use a dog sunscreen that include an SPF of 15 or higher in order to protect against the rays
Answer by • May 07, 2020
My Dog Nose It nose balm is a SPF of 25 and the coat and body spray is 30. As a company they do not put an SPF number on the box or label as that is what human sunscreens use. This sunscreen is not suitable for human use. Human sunscreens are not suitable for use on pets.
Can I use this on my dogs paws?
Answer by • Apr 02, 2018
My Dog Nose It is proud to be all natural, vegan, cruelty and paraben free. This is safe to use on nose, ears and other unprotected areas, including paws.
