can you use this to keep your cats food warm.
Answer by ChewyJan 24, 2022
This heater plate has not been tested for warming cat food. But as long as the plate or bowl comes in direct contact with the top of the heater plate, it may warm it a little. The heater plate is intended to keep water from freezing.

can I use this on the 7 gallon waterer ?

Great For Montana Winters

We're on year two with our first one, and it's been great. Works well and is still the only water heater rated for double negative digits. Even when it hits -40 here, this little heater does it's best to keep up and the water lasts most of the day before finally starting to ice up. Highly recommend!

Beware of this item

This is well made, low in power usage, keeps waterer open, and everything else it was made to do. BUT, due to the cold, the very thin wire and plastic sheathing crack open where the wire enters the base. Solution? Don't move the base when it's cold. Totally impractical. Better solution? Have the wire sheathed in heavy rubber for the last inch or two before it enters the base. This should last years, not months.

It's a water heater. It heats water

East to set up. Good for cold Vermont Winters. My girls have water all day long.
