We do not recommend using any of MyPet/North States metal gates outdoors as they are intended only for indoor use. Using a metal gate outdoors may cause it to rust or break down when exposed to precipitation.

This gate has an easy-close feature. You can leave the gate in the open position and when ready, simply push the gate door closed until it clicks.

The first of these I received had a part that did not work. The gate would not go together without a replacement of this tiny plastic part. Chewy sent another gate! It was so easy to install (all the parts worked!), and I am very happy with this product. I've had cats in the past, and this gate gives me the option to have them again. It will be fairly easy to remove in an emergency (or to move furniture through the doors they're on) and they look great! (plus for $4 plus shipping I ordered the part I needed from the manufacturer so if I can get the faulty part removed without damaging the gate, I'll have two). Would have preferred to make the return......Chewy customer service is the BEST

This gate was exactly what I needed. I wanted my elderly cat to be able to go into my room and sleep without having my big goofy dog bothering her. The gate feels nice and sturdy, and was the perfect size for my doorway. It also came with extension rods, which is great if I ever move and need to lengthen the gate. I also like that the gate door is wider than similar ones I’ve seen before, so I don’t feel like I’m having to squeeze in and out of my room. The packaging was easy to open and ready to be set up straight out of the box. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone needing a way to keep out the big pets from the smaller ones.

Arrived broken (manufacturer defect)

The gate is easy to install and easy to open but it arrived partially broken it was not made correctly. The small pet door that moves up and down won’t lock into

The gate is easy to install and easy to open but it arrived partially broken it was not made correctly. The small pet door that moves up and down won’t lock into place. My husband took it apart to see why and the little pieces on both sides that allow it to lock are missing. So you can’t select a height or lock it closed or open. I contacted the manufacturer over a week ago and have not yet received a response. I’m hoping they will send me a replacement part. I’ve seen other reviewers with the same issue. It’s a shame because it’s a nice gate. As advertised it keeps the big dogs out and allows the cat and small dog “a pug” through. It’s also very easy to open my five year old a 81 year old mother can easily open the gate. I hope the manufacturer will fix this issue. If the small door would work as advertised I would have given it 5 stars.

Thanks to this gate, my cat is able to come and go freely but my housemate’s dog is unable to enter my space. He is no longer able to eat my cats food or cause other problems that I won’t mention in this review. The adjustable bar for the cat “door” is perfect. It is sturdy and fixed once set in place, unlike the plexiglass “door” of another gate I tried. The door to my area can stay open, the cat does not have to be confined and the small dog is unable to squeeze through the opening. Life is peaceful once again. The gate was a little tricky to install but I was able to do it and it remains strong and steady after several weeks of use. The other thing that’s important to me is that the adjustable bar is placed horizontally rather than vertically which makes so much more sense than the other model I tried.

This pet gate replaced a wonderful Carlson pet gate whose hinges finally broke (after 8 years). Now this is my new favorite gate. Why? It’s white and is a little shorter (our dogs are older now & uninterested in jumping over), so it’s less obvious; the gate operation is easier; it has levers to make opening the gate one-way if desired; the cat gate is simple to adjust for the height of your cat; and best of all, the gate operation is silent!

This gate is working great so far to allow my cats into my bedroom where they sleep and to keep our nosy dog out! It’s a snug fit in the door jamb but I love how wide the gate door is, and how the smaller opening is adjustable and incorporated into the gate. So much easier than taking the old gate up and down!

HIGH quality pet gate!

This gate is so nicely made - very sturdy and the pet pass through gate locks into place so my dog can't slide it up and sneak in to steal turds from the litter
