Questions & Answers

3 Customer Questions

Please add feeding tables for all food products sold by Chewy. None of the images show one, and there isn't one under feeding instructions either. With 2 large dogs its very hard to gauge how quickly I will burn through food if I can't get even a tentative feeding guideline.

I like to combine Natural Balance Ultra Fat Dogs with a thin slice of Fresh pet roll. Sometimes I also add a cooked eggs or chicken to increase my pets protein intake, but Natural Balance is the base product. I have a 10yrs old golden retriever and she is a very healthy, active girl.

My dog Bailey has pancreatitis and was prescribed Science Diet IV. Bailey refused to eat it and did not care for the taste one bit. We have switched over to homemade foods and we do a little kibble each day. With pancreatitis he must have low fat meals. The fat dogs is one of the lowest fat content that we could find and he loves the taste of it.

My dog is 13 and has had chronic pancreatitis his whole life and now requires low fat food all the time. He’s had 3 pretty severe flare ups in the past couple of years. The vet always puts him on Royal Canin Low GI food when he’s recovering. The wet food is $6 a can! A bag of the dry food is like $130, I think. We did some research and finally chose Fat Dogs, based on the fat content in the food. Our dog seems to like it just fine, he’s not super picky but he has such an “iffy” tummy because of the pancreatitis. The fiber in this food is apparently “nature’s broom” for my dog. He went from 2-3 bowel movements a day to around 6-7, the volume of each of those has increased as well. I haven’t really noticed a dramatic weight loss, maybe a couple pounds but he’s not overweight anyway but much more sedentary at his age. My only complaint is that there is a lot of “bread crumbs” and “dust” with the food. Like Cheeto dust at the bottom of the bag. I don’t know why it’s so dusty. Overall it’s been a great switch for our dog but he poops A LOT now.

Fast delivery.

My vet recommended this brand. I ordered from Chewy because of their excellent customer service and because they really care about the furbabies.

I have used Natural Balance for years but my dog didn't care for this food. Even if he did like it, the name alone would keep me from buying more. Whoever named this is a moron. It's 2025 people! How would you like to buy Fat People Crackers instead of reduced fat crackers or Fat People Coke instead of diet Coke?? I think the company completely forgot about obesity sensitivity training. My puppers is only a couple of pounds overweight. She can't read, but I can - and you have lost a faithful customer. SMH

My dog actually likes this food

This is the first diet dog food Tonks will eat, and she's lost 10 lbs over the past year.

Cliff has been eating Natural balance for five years. He loves the crunchiness of the kibble. This is the first part of his breakfast after coming in side in the morning. Sure, there’s lots of varieties of kibble, but Cliff likes this one in particular. He gets a little of this mixed in during the day with the rest of his meals. The low calorie count helps him stay thin and trim. He is a super healthy dog for almost 15 years old.
