I had very high hopes for this chew. My dog is a strong chewer and it seemed like he did okay with this but it seemed to be very stringy when he would chew on it. I was worried he would get a stringy piece stuck in his throat. They just seemed too dry and stringy for our liking. Not what I was expecting.
My dog has had Pure Bites gullet strips before but he can be particular about his treats. I was pleased to see that he seems to like this stick form from a different brand. While it is for light chewers and may not last long, I think it still helps to scrape at and clean the teeth given that your pet chews at it instead of swallowing chunks. There were 18 sticks in our bag. All of them were approx. 6 inches as advertised. It says on the bag minimum net weight 8 oz. The weight of the bag is 0.5 oz. The net weight was actually 7.7 oz but it was pretty close. Not bad.
This toy came as a gift when our dog was a puppy. Two years later, she finally got through to the tennis ball. Holds up SUPER well to a mega chewer dog. Coming back to buy it again.
My little Cavapoo is just 13 weeks old and while he loves chewing he’s not a fan of hard busy sticks, at least not yet. Well, I think I found the holy jerky stick grail - He’s loving it, loved the smell too (yes it’s stinky but I’ve had dogs before ;-) he immediately rolled on top of it to smell like it. He’s been busy chewing for 20 minutes already and he’s not close to being done!
These are my Lexi's first choice in a treat. Prefers them over her beloved greenie. The only problem with the jerky sticks is that she chews on them enough to soften then tries to swallow whole. She never ever did something like that before. I barely got her to stop swallowing it. Just a warning to other owners. It could have turned ugly. I was sitting right here with her, she did it so fast. I cannot in my right mind let her have anymore.
My girls love these. They are simple and easy for them. They will play with them before they are devoured. Such a great price for the bag. I go thru two a day (2pups) and there are about 15 days in the pack!
My dog really like these. I chose them because they had fewer calories and I was looking for something to replace pig ears, which are very caloric. These don't leave crumbs all over the carpet.
These snack stocks stop all three of my little dogs in their tracks as they chow down on this delicious treat.
