This product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only.
6-oz tub of powder makes (84-oz) 10-1/2 cups of liquid broth.
2-lb tub of powder makes (452-oz) 56-1/2 cups of liquid broth.
How to make: Mix 2 tablespoons with an 8 oz cup of warm water and stir. Refrigerate any leftovers and use within a few days.
Serving Suggestion: Serve about 1/4 cup of broth per 25 lbs bodyweight per serving. Adjust accordingly for larger or smaller pets.
So the mixing instructions in my opinion are kind of useless because of how bad it clumps up. One thing I started doing was sprinkling the powder over the dry kibble and coating it. Then I would pour hot water and it mixed in perfectly fine. Aside from that issue the powder was great. Didn’t give my sensitive dog diarrhea at all and he took to it instantly.
Our dog is 10 years old and had started to walk around with her dry food in her mouth and drop pieces all over the kitchen and den as she was eating. It took her an hour or more to eat and then we had to clean up all the dropped dog food. It was driving me crazy. I purchased this broth and I put 1 tbsp in 1/2 cup of water, poured it over her food and now she never leaves the dish. She eats all her food in one sitting and doesn't carry it all around. Love It!!
I usually get a different broth powder but saw this one and looked like a good amount for the price, I’ve given it a few tries but just can’t use it. I use hot water and it clumps together so bad I can’t even mix it. I’ve tried mixing with a spoon and a frother but both ways don’t work.
Zero of my four cats will touch this. They are not picky eaters and usually consume food like tiny furry garbage disposals. It smells absolutely foul.
I was hoping my cat would like this, but she won't touch it.
This is wonderful for supplementing diet, as are all their broths, and is especially good for sick animals who aren't eating or only eating small amounts. Cats in particular can get liver damage if they go too long without eating. I've given this to sick kitties (using oral syringe) who weren't eating and had them start eating again a day or two later so it definitely helps. I mostly use the turkey broth, but wanted to try this one as beef has nutrient elements that others don't. I also tried the pork, and this one - beef - definitely mixes differently than the others. I DO NOT heat the water directly that I mix the broth into. I use a hot water bath only. I also use a water bath to reheat refrigerated broth. NEVER microwave broth directly as it alters the molecular structure of the protein molecules, same reason baby formula instructions say to never microwave formula. Bad for babies, bad for pets. I start with whatever amount of cold water in a tall glass jar (only use GLASS to heat broth in for water bath). I use a 32 oz plastic yogurt container for the bath as its tall enough, but use whatever suitable container you have. I microwave water for the water bath til its hot, about 2 1/2 min for a cup or so is enough using tall 16 oz glass jar in 32 oz plastic container. Then pour it into plastic container and put jar of cold water in it. Hot water level should be at least 1/2 inch or more above level of water in jar. Let cold jar water warm in hot bath for a few minutes, then whisk in broth powder. It will clump, but don't worry about trying to whisk it smooth because you won't be able to. Just whisk the powder into the water for about 10-15 seconds or so, then let it sit with whisk in the broth (clumps will be attached to whisk). The bath water will cool quickly so pour it back in measuring cup you heated it in and microwave for another 2 1/2 minutes. Microwave the bath water only - DO NOT microwave broth! Pour hot water back into plastic container and let jar of broth sit in it. The clumps of powder WILL dissolve, at which time you can successfully whisk it some more. I've found it does not help to try and mix powder into already hot water as it still clumps. But letting it sit in the hot water bath always dissolves the clumps. Just takes a bit longer for the beef to dissolve than the turkey and pork. But it will dissolve. It seems to dissolve best when I reheat the bath water so its fairly hot as opposed to just warmer. When mixing this for feeding time I start this first and let it do its thing while preparing the food. If you don't want to mix broth every day, make a larger amount and refrigerate, using hot water bath to reheat what you need each time. It may sound complicated, but it really isn't. Once you've done it a couple times its basically effortless. Just let the hot water bath do the work for you. My kitties all love slurping broth with their food! Kitty approved!
My cat personally doesnt like it too much recently, he did at first, and I think its because its really hard to mix-up so it gets these super sticky glue like clumps. Otherwise Im grateful for it because mixing in the powder with any of his other food Im able to add water without actually watering it down!
it is a great quality product and has good natural supplements in it. only complaint is that it clumps and is very hard to mix it hardened to my spoon as i mixed so i had to add extra since most of it clumped.
The product itself is fine, dogs love it, but if you’re just using warm/hot water, the powder clumps together and doesn’t mix very well.
You know it is really good when they continue to lick their bowl after the food is gone. They absolutely love it! This bone broth is perfect solution for picky eater. This is easy way to add more flavor & moisture to their food. Easy to prepare.
