Does this food contain chicken or beef ? My dog is highly allergic to chicken and beef

This food does not contain any beef. It contains poultry fat, but no poultry meat. As pure poultry fat contains no protein, it should not trigger the allergic reactions that meat or meal would in a pet who is allergic to it. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian for more details about your pet's specific allergens and sensitivities if you unsure if a dog food blend would be right for your dog.

The main difference in adult and puppy food is that the puppy food will contain a higher amount of protein, fat and fiber. Nature's Recipe Puppy Lamb Meal & Rice Recipe has a generous serving of lamb meal in each bowl to help young dogs grow. Nature's Recipe Adult Lamb Meal & Rice Recipe is specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of an active adult dog.

Does the poultry fat contain any duck fat or any duck sources. My dog is highly allergic to anything duck or salmon.

My dog used to love this food, had no problems with it for a few years. Recent bag had kibbles a lot smaller and denser than before. My dog refuses to eat it now,

My dog used to love this food, had no problems with it for a few years. Recent bag had kibbles a lot smaller and denser than before. My dog refuses to eat it now, even with toppings. She was never a picky eater. I’ve been given a lot of puppy eyes, I could tell my dog was very hungry, but she wouldn’t touch the food until I switched brands.

Way too tiny now!

My boxer has an extremely picky digestive system and he has successfully been on this food for a few years now. All of the sudden, I noticed that the pieces of food are way smaller then they used to be....like puppy kibble. My dog is choking after every meal and coughing out some of the food, even hours later. I'm going to have to find a new food for him, which terrifies me, because he is so sensitive. Very dissapointed.

I have had nine dogs over the past 38 years and they have all eaten Nature's Recipe lamb and rice I have never had any stomach or gastrointestinal or digestive problems

They changed their recipe

First of all, the bags contain less food and gets emptied way faster. Secondly, my dogs have not been wanting to eat it. I thought to give it time but they absolutely

First of all, the bags contain less food and gets emptied way faster. Secondly, my dogs have not been wanting to eat it. I thought to give it time but they absolutely refuse. It makes their breath smell too. The kibbles are also too small now. I ended up donating the last bag I ordered to the shelter due to my dogs refusing to eat it. Too bad, because we have bought from this brand for years.

While my Shih Tzu enjoys the wet version of this lamb flavor, he will not eat the Nature’s Recipe dry version. It appears that the flavors are not the same for both the wet and dry versions, because he will eat dry food for a Parina dry-product, but not Nature’s Recipe.

Nature's Recipe Lamb, Barley and Brown Rice Recipe is a big hit with my 17 year old dog. He loves the flavor and he was able to eat it with no stomach upset. It's a big hit with me, too, as I love the healthy ingredients and natural preservatives without artificial colors or flavors. This makes me believe they have my dog's health as a priority. The glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are great additives for a senior dog, like mine. Overall, my dog and I are very pleased with this flavorful, high quality food.

Nature’s Recipe seemed perfect for my sensitive stomach dog since he can’t tolerate chicken. I was surprised to see chicken meal listed as the second ingredient. I thought the packaging was misleading, as it was labeled as Lamb, Barley and Brown Rice Recipe. I donated it to a local animal shelter.
