After using the Nature's Recipe wet food (which is wonderful), I expected that we would really like their dry food also. We first tried the lamb recipe and it was okay but had a horrible odor of dead meat but that is understandable since that's what it is. The chicken recipe smells HORRIBLE exactly like a bag of chicken poop! My dogs eat ANYTHING but they don't really like this food when given a choice. They also seem to eat more grass while using this food. I'll be glad to finally get rid of this odor and I won't order it again.
We have two dogs - one that's very picky, and a lab who will eat anything and everything. The picky dog doesn't like this food (par for the course), but this is the first bag of dog food I have encountered that the lab won't eat. We transitioned from their last brand and have been using this for about a week. Initially he would eat a few bites but not his normal meals, now he has gone 24 hours without touching any of it.
I gave this 3 stars just because my dog would not eat it. I dont know why...but sheleft thebowl and walked away. I let it sit til 930 at night and she never went back to it. It may well be good food but I'd say the flavor drawl wasn't there as I could not get my dog interested.
I have been feeding this brand and formula to my dogs for over 12 years. The past year or so I have noticed that the kibble is easily crumbled evidence is in the bag. The bag size has been changing so a bag does not go very far when feeding three larger dogs, and the packaging has changed to some kind of plastic, hard to open but splits easily if dropped. These days my dogs seem constantly itchy and the ear infections are hard to keep up with. I have read reviews that mention these itch issues I am trying a grain free alternative hoping we will get some relief soon. Also am looking to find another brand of high quality food that is reasonably priced.
I have been feeding our 12 year old Labradoodle Natures Recipe food since he was a puppy. He was on the regular food until about a year ago when I changed him to the adult/senior. His vet is surprised at his over all good health and almost perfect teeth.
Our lab has gone through four bags of this food. At first, it was really great, and an easy transition for him. No tummy upsets, he liked the taste, and the food itself isn’t stinky (he used to be grain free, salmon as protein). At first, the bags were great. Our last two bags have had so much crumb/dust from the kibble that it was visible in every scoop. We’re at the bottom of the bag now, so obviously it’s more dusty now, but this was definitely throughout the past two bags. It’s a good food, I just won’t be buying again.
It is fast delivery and good for my dogs. I love the chewy makes it easy. They just deliver what you need.
I normally buy the salmon flavor but decided to let my dog try this one. He will not eat it until he's practically starving.
there was a lot of dog food dust in the bag putting food in dog food dish and half of it being dust is aggravating. food is expensive & don't appreciate receiving a bag full of dust
Bag was already torn open with dry food all over inside of box
