NaturVet Salmon Oil Plus Omegas Liquid Skin & Coat Supplement for Cats & Dogs

We bought this for our dog, Shadow. He's 14 years old and has itchy skin because of Cushing's and the issues it causes. We're hoping, along with other treatments, that this oil will help his skin issues. He loves the taste as I add it to his canned food.

My cat doesn't like it :(

He's not a fussy eater, but this oil put him off his food. I tried for days. I tried cutting the dose in half, and then even less, and then just a drop. No go. I'm sure it would be lovely for his coat, and a friend of mine says her cat likes it, and it's making her cat all silky and beautiful, but what good is it if the cat won't take it.

Wonderful product!

I bought this because a friend of mine who also has a whippet was saying how much she loves putting it in their food. My dog loves all meat but especially fish so he goes crazy for this stuff, I put a pump in his food every day. A great bonus is I’ve had zero issues with the bottle being leaky or messy, which I was worried about because that would be pretty smelly. I can’t believe how nice this stuff is, I’ve noticed such a difference in his fur after I started using it. He is so much softer and shinier, I initially just bought it because I know he would love the taste and smell but it’s been so amazing for his fur! I give half a pump to my American Hairless Terrier in his food during the winter months and I’ve noticed (in addition to moisturizing him with lotion) that it helps keep him from getting itchy with the cold, dry air. I just bought more of this and am giving a bottle of it to a friend! I will definitely be buying this for as long as I have my sweet boy, he absolutely loves it.

Great Product

I have been mixing the salmon oil in with my dogs food. His coat is looking and feeling fantastic. I will certainly be buying this product again.

Buy in a store, though

This is a great product. However, the bottle leaked in transit and caused a real mess once delivered (plus, there was nothing left to use). We love Chewy and are loyal, longtime customers, but this is the first and last time we will purchase from Chewy this product or one like it.

Good oil, horrible pump

This oil works great, so far (on my first bottle), but the pump is horribly useless and utterly wasteful. It was useless the moment I got it, so I put some in a dropper bottle to dispense to my finicky kitties. I will see how this goes for the rest of the bottle, as I’m hoping my boys keep taking it (I have one that takes it WAY better than the other, but for now I just give the skeptical one much less.) If I do but it again, I will know that this is the deal and won’t rely on the pump. I wish there could be an option of a regular top to store in the refrigerator. Today proved to be very, very messy just to close the top. Good luck and be aware.

Cats like it!

My cats don’t mind the flavor of this oil, even my picky boy. He’s always a little apprehensive when we add something liquidy to his food bowl, but he doesn’t seem to mind this one too much. It’s also a huge bottle for the price. I do 1 pump of this oil just once a day on top of their dry food, their fur already feels smoother and less dry.

The pump never released so I have to remove it and pour, making a terrific fishy mess.
