What size dog does large fit? Breed?
Answer by ChewyOct 20, 2020
To determine the right size for your dog, it's necessary to measure their leg circumference 2 inches above and below the hock joint center. If the dog happens to be in between sizes, it's then recommended to select the smaller size. For the complete sizing chart, please refer to the photo below or click the “Size” tab, next to the “Instructions” tab, just under the product photos.

How does this help with an ACL injury?
Answer by ChewyFeb 20, 2020
This Rear Leg Brace is designed to provide your canine companion with rear leg, hock and ankle support. Due to your pet's injury, we'd recommend consulting with your veterinarian to ensure the safest recovery option.

Is it for torn ACL
Answer by ChewyJun 15, 2020
These braces are recommended by veterinarians and can be used post-surgery, to help heal an injury, and can be beneficial for pup’s with knee issues or a torn ACL or CCL.

Is this package one brace or 2?

Quality product that works well

I got this for 40 lb dog with torn ligament. Used this as a 36 hr on/12 hr off brace, and she went from 3 legged to running with the pack!

Braces for a large dog

Surprisingly my dog took well to the braces. He wears them before we go on walks and has never mind them.

Seem to work

Bought this for my mastiff mix he tore his ACL I put them on him when we go for a walk. Seems to help, but the Velcro doesn't hold I have to stop and re hook them. I bought the large they fit nice but wondering if I should have bought the extra-large. Maybe the strap would be longer I don't know. But anyway, they don't bother him while walking. If you don't tighten them right, they will slip down.

Got the job done

My dog has unfortunately recently been diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy and is struggling with the coordination of her back legs. She’s also a very anxious pup and was not happy when I tried to put in harder braces. These were flexible enough and provided just enough support that she was able to tell she was knuckling and correct before stepping on it. It also reduced the severity of the knuckling from whole foot to the toes. We are hoping this helps her gain stability, confidence and reduces further injury to herself.

Works as expected

They do what I expected of them. We got the size small for my Siberian Husky. It offers some support after she tore her CCL.

Medium usefulness

My dog has skinny, longish legs. The correct width around seemed too short for him. They also did not seem to stay tight very well, and would sag down around his ankles even if I tried to fasten them snugly. This might have been partly because of the total height of the leg brace, I'm not sure. It was somewhat helpful for a few minutes, but not really helpful enough to recommend (primarily for the reasons above).

Did not work for me

I took these to the Dr.needing some advice. My dog needs a Stifel brace instead due to the injury being higher up. I read someone’s review and it seemed it worked for her.

Exactly what he needed dor support

Our vet's diagnosis of a torn CCL, a result of weakness in that leg after surgical removal of a ruptured fatty tumor, had us looking for solutions other than surgery on a 14 yr old terrier with separation issues. We use both the supports on his hind legs and they make s huge difference. After a week, we can see the injured leg not collapsing inward during his short bathroom walks. We have limited his diet, to bring his weight from 41 pounds to 37, and will continue until we get to a healthy 31. He hets fresh beef leg bone slices from our butcher, to give his mind something, while his walkies time is limited. He enjoys the supports, doesn't bite at them, and we take them off late in the evening, for the night. I do recommend following the easy written instructions to get them properly in place. Thanks, Chewy!
