Snuffle mat is fun, but beware of removable parts

My pup really liked this mat, but we are a little frustrated with it. To begin...it shipped folded up in a cardboard box. It wasn't wrapped in a plastic or protective bag and did NOT come with any instructions or directions for cleaning. When the box was delivered, it had been raining out so when it was left in the rain, the mat had gotten wet through the box. It wasn't damaged and did dry, but just a heads up that it could get wet when being delivered. The mat has a 'grippy' base so it will not slide around when in use. When the mat is in place, you have 4 "time"/treat-hiding options and 2 additional places for treats. Each area kept my dog busy, but her favorite sections are the "Wake up" and "4PM" treat areas. They are a little easier to get the treats out of, but still keep her engaged. The 8:30 am treat section did frustrate my pup though - this section has little loops that the treats can hide in. The problem is that many of them got stuck and when my dog tried to get them out with her teeth, the treats broke apart and got all mushy inside the loops. PLEASE NOTE: the white cups on the side of the mat do come out of the mat. I did not know this at first, but thankfully I was sitting right next to my dog when she first played with it because the whole cup was in her mouth and I had to take it out so she didn't eat it or choke on it. As for washing: Since there weren't any instructions on how to wash this mat, I have just been hand washing it since the pieces are made out of felt and I feel like it will come apart in the washing machine. Overall, it is a fun concept for dogs, but it does get dirty fast and needs to be washed frequently. Also, be aware of removable cups as well as felt pieces that can be easily chewed off.

This is a cute and fun puzzle mat that I think is good to keep dogs from being bored. I plan to use this when I leave for work, as my dog needs a distraction to not have separation anxiety. When I tested it out I used a bacon treat that smells strong and a few pieces of our cats crunchy food. Her own food would never be a motivator for puzzles/snuffle mats. She was determined to find every piece of treat I hid among the flaps and fabric hidey holes. It kept her busy for a bit. I think it's decently made, but the nonslip bottom isn't really "non" slip. She still manages to flip it and pull it around. But that is part of the fun I think for her. I wasn't sure if the Velcro would keep her from lifting the flaps but she did just fine maneuvering thru all the hidden spots. I feel like it's large enough to hide stuff for two dogs if you want to.

My girl is about 90 pounds and very food motivated. This puzzle seemed a little difficult for her to navigate with her beautiful, big, fat nose. She was able to get most of the treats, but the ones I put in the more intricate puzzle pieces under the flaps were very difficult for her. She actually started just chewing the material to get the hard pieces. The nonslip backing seemed to work well. Overall this seems like a decent product to keep your pups mind sharp, but may be best suited for a smaller dog and should be supervised when used.

Ted, our 30 lb Pomeranian was interested in rhe box more than the product. It is felt and flimsy. One of the flaps is attached opposite the others. I put a few treats in it and he pawed at them to get them. This of course wrinkled up the whole mat. He was not impressed. It seems kind od cheap and the concept is poor. I would not recommend this product.

Kept Charley busy, and us laughing - this thing is a giant, silly-looking "cell phone" mat for dogs. Our dog definitely liked it - but dogs don't care how crazy something looks. The fold-over tabs were fun for her to open up and the various treat-hiding felt pockets kept her attention for quite some time. There is NO SQUEAKY FEATURE as the title says.

Great if your dog is mild mannered!

This is made from nice materials but the “flaps” that cover the sections were no match for my curious and intense dog who doesn’t read and therefore did not wait

This is made from nice materials but the “flaps” that cover the sections were no match for my curious and intense dog who doesn’t read and therefore did not wait until the allotted time to investigate each portion. She learned quickly how each material puzzle functioned and dragged the mat around in protest if each part wasn't filled with treats. This is a great idea but you may need to detach the sections from each other if you have a particularly curious/problem solving dog.
