Every dog is a little different, so the ideal feeding amount may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use the information below as a starting guideline only and adjust as required. Ask your veterinarian if you’re unsure. Always provide plenty of clean, fresh water and hugs.
Transition Instructions
When first introducing your pet to Nulo, we recommend slowly transitioning over the course of 5 to 7 days to reduce the risk of digestive upset that can occur with a rapid change in diet. We recommend portioning 25% of the new food on the first day mixed with 75% of the former food. Over the course of several days, gradually increase this ratio until you are feeding 100% of the new food. This will allow your pet's digestive system time to adjust to any new ingredients and will help to ensure a smooth transition. Mixing up proteins can be a great way to provide variety to your pet's diet. Once your pet has transitioned to the Nulo platform, rotating between recipes is generally seamless!
These protein-rich diets have proteins from animal sources as the first 3-4 ingredients. Low-carb and low-glycemic ingredients provide stable energy levels, while the proprietary GanedenBC30 probiotic aids digestive and immune health. Plus, they’re made without pea protein, white potatoes, corn, tapioca, wheat or soy.
Raising the Bar on What’s in Their Bowl
From their careful selection of ingredients—like protein-rich turkey, lamb, salmon, chicken, beef and duck—to low-glycemic carb source choices like lentils, chickpeas, barley, oat, millet and sweet potatoes, Nulo approaches pet food the way they approach everything—no shortcuts allowed.
(Nu)trition + (Lo)ve
Nutrition and love are at the core of everything Nulo does. That is why they only use the finest ingredients to craft their high-meat, low-carb recipes. So go ahead and show your pet some love with the wholesome nutrition of Nulo foods.
Healthier Together

How many cups of food does the 24 lb bag contain?
Answer by • Dec 17, 2018
There will be approximately 4 cups of kibble per pound. The 4.5 pound bag will have close to 18 cups, the 11 pound bag close to 44 cups and the 24 pound bag close to 96 cups.
Is this or any of the ingredients from China?
Answer by • Jul 07, 2021
The meat, poultry, and fish are sourced from the United States and Canada, with the exception of some of our duck (France), lamb (Australia & New Zealand), and wild-caught fish (regions can vary based on the migratory path of the wild population). Our fruits, vegetables, ancient grains, vitamins, and minerals are sourced in North America as well as regions throughout the world, but are always traced and required to meet strict safety and quality standards.
I notice there are only two flavors listed in NULO's "NO wheat/corn/soy" category, so this one apparently has one of the three, but I don't see it in the ingredients. Could it be in the type of Vitamin C being from corn?
Answer by • May 15, 2018
This product contains no soy, potatoes, tapioca, corn, wheat, or gluten's.
I have been trying various high end dog kibble to help my pups "not firm" stools. I was recommended to try several limited grain varieties. This one helped almost immediately. I am also looking at this brands totally grain free variety. And my dog loves it!

chickpeas—avoid!
I was feeding this food to my Samoyed dog (first their puppy food and then the adult). At 1year she was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy which she did not have a year ago! My vet says this is a major developing problem—Avoid dog food with peas, legumes, and potatoes!

Food for my French Bulldog
I ordered a small bag since I am just introducing Nulo to my French Bulldog. In the past it took a while for his stomach to get used to the food, didn't find the same issue with Nulo. My dog is allergic to chicken so I am pretty limited as to the food he can have. He seems to love the food and have noticed a bit more energy since I started.

great option for dogs with GI issues
Have an adult ausiedoodle who developed a very sensitive stomach. It got to the point where she was having multiple accidents inside every week and I could not leave her by herself for more than a couple hours. My vet suggested trying a lamb-based dry food and I chose Nulo because of its relatively high protein content. So glad I did. Saw immediate improvement. She has been on freestyle lamb & chickpea for about a year now and I can safely say that this food has been amazing for her. Not a single accident since switching, no more vomiting, rarely a loose stool. No looking back - i'm a believer. On behalf of my rugs, thank you Nulo.

Koda is OBSESSED
My 3 year old mix has a hard time finding food he likes. We’ve been moving around a lot due to the pandemic and other things going on in our lives, and it becomes especially difficult to get him to eat for the first week in a new place. He loves this brand and flavor though! I can see the immediate different in his eating patterns, even when we are somewhere unfamiliar. Chewy sent the bag immediately after I ordered - it showed up at my door two days later! Very happy 10/10!

So Far So Good
I started my dogs on this kibble about 2 weeks ago. One of my dogs has allergies so I bought this to see if it would help her. Her poops have changed from being dry, almost constipated in consistency, to loosening up just a little. When comparing feeding instructions to their prior kibble, this actually asks that you feed less! So while it is a 26lb bag, it lasts a little longer because of the nutritional content! I have been impressed thus far.
