What size is the kibble. I have small breed dogs with some missing teeth. They would need something pretty small.
Answer by ChewyAug 07, 2020
Three pieces of kibble bunched together are roughly the same size as a penny. Check out the photo below.

Why is there DL-Methionine in this food? It seems to have plenty of meat and is not a "grain-free" formula? Asking because of the side effects of DL-Methionine.
Answer by ChewyJun 19, 2020
Methionine is one of the several essential amino acids that must be provided in adequate levels in dog and cat diets. DL-Methionine is a commercially available form that is approved for safe use as a dietary supplement in animal foods (21 CFR 582.5475), and is widely used in both pet foods and supplements today. DL-Methionine has been selected by Nulo's formulator for its safety and efficacy. All of Nulo's incoming ingredients, including supplements like DL-Methionine, must pass testing for both quality and safety before being used in their foods.

Made in USA and are ingredients from USA.
Answer by ChewyFeb 02, 2021
This food is made in the USA. Nulo's meat, poultry, and fish are sourced from North America, with the exception of some of their duck (France), lamb (Australia & New Zealand), and wild-caught fish (regions can vary based on the migratory path of the wild population). Their fruits, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals are sourced in North America as well as regions throughout the world, but are always traced and required to meet strict safety and quality standards. None of Nulo’s ingredients are sourced from China, with the exception of select vitamin supplements that can only be sourced from there.

How much protein comes from meat?
Answer by ChewyAug 28, 2020
For Nulo Frontrunner formulas, 77% of the protein comes from animal sources (meat).

Chicken Meal is a primary ingredient

While it may not catch your eye immediately, this advertised beef, barley, and lamb food actually contains chicken meal. It made my dog have the worst stools and I finally checked the ingredients a bit more thoroughly and noticed that there is chicken meal vs. chicken fat which he can process.

Fantastic!

While searching for a new food for a puppy with a chicken allergy, I came across this brand and was instantly pleased with their ingredients. I decided to try this line out for my 3 year old flat coated retriever and he loves it! He happily chows down at every meal and I’ve seen a big improvement in his coat and stool in a short time. I loved the food I previously fed him, and he never turned his nose up at it, but he never ate it as enthusiastically as he does Nulo. Super happy with Nulo frontrunner for my adult dog and Nulo challenger for my puppy (which I wish chewy carried as well!)

quality food

Our 1 year old Amstaff was eating purina pro plan puppy food as it was recommended by the breeder. I wanted something with higher quality ingredients when switching to adult food and this Nulo fit the bill as I didn’t want to go grain free. My dog loves the taste and I love the ingredients!

My SP likes this dry kibble so I would defiantly recommend this product

A favorite

It’s so hard to find an acceptable kibble packed with ANIMAL protein that dogs need and that isn’t grain free. I’m so thankful Nulo created this product and I’m so thankful Chewy carries it. It is also hands down my dog’s favorite, tastewise. When he’s being fussy with other foods (we rotate a few), he’ll always eat his Beef Nulo Frontrunner!! <3 Wish they still carried a size between 5 and 25 lb though.. too small and too big.

Loves it! Gets excited to eat now

My Boxer is a bit finicky, so I tend to rotate her food. She really loved this and I can get behind the ingredient list, which isn't an essay of additives. Transition to this food from her previous food was smooth, with blending, unlike past foods we've tried. She gets excited when I open her food storage container, so I know she must like it!

My dog suddenly developed skin issues after I switched to this

I am half-way into the first pack, and have just gotten my 2nd autoship delivered. Unfortunately, one of my dogs developed severe skin problems and this is the ONLY thing that has changed for him in the past few months. The vet suspects that the grain in this kibble might be the problem. (The other dog does not accept kibble so he does not eat this.) Alas, I cannot feed him this brand anymore.
