We have a couple of senior cats. One of them can now only eat pate and is very, very picky about what she eats; at one point we thought we might lose her because she decided she didn't want to eat any more. We tried Nulo Prowess Mature 12+ Salmon and Tuna. They make another flavor but we knew that wouldn't work. She ate this. Because she ate this, she gained a little weight and got back some strength and is now happy to eat other foods as well. As usual, I will post the positives and negatives for this product. Positives: 1. It comes in a 12-pack with a clear plastic wrapping that we can recycle at our grocery store. 2. Each can includes "Feeding Guidelines," which you don't find on other cat foods. 3. Each can includes a complete list of ingredients and they are wonderful. 4. Our old cat LOVES it. It got her eating again and we can breathe easier. It is in a yummy tast7 broth that keeps her interest. Negatives: 1. It's a little pricey.

I gave my senior tabby cats Prowess cat food the other morning, and it was an instant hit. I loved that it’s a pâté specifically made for cats ages 12+, which is perfect since all of my cats are over 11. The moment I opened the salmon and tuna in broth recipe, they went absolutely bonkers in the kitchen. Once they tasted it, they completely devoured it. The texture is very soft, making it ideal for senior cats, and they clearly loved the flavor. The 2.8-ounce cans are the perfect size to split between two cats. I also appreciate that the ingredients start with salmon broth, salmon, and tuna—it gives me real peace of mind knowing I’m feeding them quality food. I can’t wait to purchase more!

Worst quality food I’ve gotten in 15 years

My senior cat only likes pate wet foods, and I was trying to find a canned pate that she would like. However, I never even got to her trying this. I open the can

My senior cat only likes pate wet foods, and I was trying to find a canned pate that she would like. However, I never even got to her trying this. I open the can and immediately there’s a shard of fish bone on top. As I continue to go through the food wi the a spoon, I find a total of ten fish bones and a large (dime sized) blackened chunk of flesh in this singular small can. This was just a brief look-through; I know there were likely more bones in there if I thoroughly went through it. Fish bones are not good for cats so I could not feed this to her. With the cost of this food, I was shocked to see the very, very poor quality.

we have 2 cats, not ours, our neighbors, but we feed them and they seem to prefer our house to their own but....cats. one of them will not eat this food but she is a bit persnickity with her food likes. the other cat eats everything (think Mikey likes it....she's Mikey in this situation). if she's super hungry she will eat a little bit. i don't think they like the consistency. i am surprised the piggy cat doesn't always eat it.

From the moment I opened the can, the broth-based recipe looked so appealing and hydrating, which is fantastic for a senior kitty. Emmara absolutely devoured this, licking the bowl clean! As someone who pays close attention to pet nutrition, I love that it's formulated specifically for older cats and packed with high-quality protein. Bought this for my senior cat. Both her and my younger cat hated it. Barely tried it before making it clear they weren't interested. Left it out overnight to see if they'd cave, and they chose to go hungry instead, which never happens. Ended up donating to the local shelter.
