Is there a DM Cosequin. My vet wanted me to that one

Answer by whynotpugsSep 20, 2024
There’s a DS (Double Strength) Cosequin with MSM that’s now called Cosequin Maximum Strength. I’ve used it for many years. There is also a product called Glycoflex that has an ingredient called N,N-Dimethylglycine HCl that’s abbreviated to DMG. You may want to double check with your vet if it’s the particular ingredient, DMG, or a particular strength, DS, that he wants you to use. Hope this helps a bit. I have been researching products this morning comparing ingredients when I noticed your question.

the MG on this is higher than the brand that I have been using and doesnt have msm in it. would this make your dog go to the bathroom more.

Answer by GSDMom3Apr 04, 2025
I've been using this brand in all 3 of my German Shepherds and haven't seen any issues with diarrhea or more frequent potty trips. Consider starting with 1 tablet or 1/2 a tablet (depending on the size of your dog) for the first few days and gradually move up to the recommended dose. Of course always consult you vet if you have concerns.

How many milligrams is there in each tablet?

Answer by ChewyMar 12, 2024
Each Chewable Tablet Contains 600 milligrams minimum of Glucosamine Hydrochloride, 300 milligrams minimum of Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate Minimum, 250 milligrams minimum of Methylsulfonylmethane, and 3 milligrams of Manganese Minimum.

Is this a pain relief also? If not can it be mixed with one

Answer by ChewyJun 01, 2019
This joint supplement is not a pain reliever. We'd recommend consulting with your veterinarian before combining any supplements for the safest option.

Nutramax Cosequin Joint Health Supplement has been a game changer for my dog’s mobility and overall comfort. After just a few weeks of consistent use, I noticed a clear improvement in flexibility, ease of movement, and energy especially during walks and playtime. I really appreciate that Cosequin uses high-quality, veterinarian-recommended ingredients like glucosamine and chondroitin, without unnecessary fillers. It gives me confidence knowing this is a trusted brand with a strong reputation in pet health. The chewable tablets are easy to give, and my dog takes them without any fuss, which is a huge plus. Most importantly, this supplement delivers real results. Stiffness has noticeably decreased, and my dog seems happier, more active, and more comfortable day to day. If you’re looking for a proven, effective joint supplement that truly supports long term joint health, Nutramax Cosequin is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

I have had my Lab Gunner on Cosequin for about 6-7 years, and I truly believe it has made a huge difference in his quality of life. Gunner is now 10 years old and still runs around the yard, does zoomies and moves with the agility of a much younger dog. For a large breed and his age, he is thriving and I credit Cosequin for helping support his joints and mobility over the years. Watching him move so freely and happily is amazing and I am so grateful to have found a supplement that clearly works for him. I would absolutely recommend Cosequin to anyone looking to support their dogs joint health, especially as they get older.

My senior pups hurt her neck years ago getting excited and jumping leaping off the bed ; she couldn’t move for days. Since then if she does too much she aggravates it. Due to the weather I was shoveling and she spent too much time being active. I knew better but she was having such a good time. The next two days she could barely move and I even had to carry her . With this it works like an ibuprofen and she was back to normal in two days. I still use it daily for maintenance

Laza has been on a low dose of carprofen for almost two years to manage pain in her front R leg. Whatever was causing the pain seems to have dissipated. I wanted to get her completely off carprofen and decided that this would be good to switch too. She has been getting the load dose for 10 days and a tiny micro dose of the carprofen. Tomorrow she will get zero carprofen and the load dose for 4 more days. But so far she seems very comfortable. I am pleased.

My 13 year old was limping so much that we were about calling the vet, then a friend, who is a professional pathologist nutricionist, recommended me this pills. She is doing very well, they helped a lot and no vet was necessary is a great support for elder dogs or the ones that show problems with mobility . keep in mind you have to keep giving the pills, don’t stop if they look better, change dosage for maintenance but honestly it really helps and no side effects

The reviews were very positive and my vet has liked the brand.

The word "chewable " is what attracted me. I thought it was a soft type pill, however, it was very solid and hard to chew. I did try Vibeful, your chewy brand

The word "chewable " is what attracted me. I thought it was a soft type pill, however, it was very solid and hard to chew. I did try Vibeful, your chewy brand and the wording " soft, chewable" was more understanding. Vibeful is a wonderful product and very"chewable".

Waste of money. My dog was doing great on a joint supplement but was wanting to get something I didn’t have to special order so I can to chewy to look and decided to try cosequin since sounded good ingredient wise. After being off her other joint supplement and being on this one she started limping again and being stiff when getting up. Will not buy this one again. I tried the senior cosequin too thinking maybe it’s the lack of omegas that changed. But neither cosequin product had improvement. She actually got worst on both cosequin products. Very disappointed. Quality isn’t what it was when I was a kid.

We have a black lab mix that turns 16 in January. She blew out her ACL a couple of years ago and surgery seemed too risky and expensive for a dog her age. Plus we were told there was a risk of her injuring the other. So the vet said we could let it try to heal on its own, But she’d likely never be the same. So we put her on the Cosequin. Several years later, and she’s still chasing the tennis ball around while getting ready to celebrate her 16th birthday January 6th!
