Tried this Nutrena feed for my goats from Chewy to see if it would be fresh and bug free. To my great surprise, it is fresh and no bugs. You can’t beat the price, and with free shipping to my door, sorry TS I’m shopping with Chewy! Bought this at TS awhile back and it was not fresh and had bugs, wanted to use this feed but didn’t want to deal with the issues, glad I can get it here with Chewy.

My (2) male goats like it very much. It has many good nutrients and proteins. My goats free rein so they usually don’t eat and type of feed. As you can see in the picture, they love it. I use several Nutrena High Protein feeds for my farm animals, and it is by far the best and most liked. The Nutrena High Protein Goat Feed is in small pellets with lots of cracked corn. My goats have eaten 1/2 the bag in one week. As a 20yr farmer, I trust Nutrena feeds.

I have two goats, and they may be the pickiest goats in the history of goatdom. I've literally seen them spit out granola, and finding a treat that they enjoy has been tough - the only thing they seem to like are the very expensive horse treats. So I was pleasantly surprised when they started gobbling this food. I started mixing it in slowly, and by the time I had gotten to full ration of this, they were actually deigning to come out of their house at mealtime to eat. Looks like this has quality ingredients and it's not medicated, which I appreciate. Pixie and Lulu give this a hoof up.

I currently have two goats. One is an elderly Alpine/Nubian mix; he typically weighs 225 pounds, but even though the vet confirmed that he is In good health, he has lost weight as he has aged. He has access to 6 acres of wooded browse, hay, and loose minerals, but he needs a boost of additional calories. On the other hand, I also have a Nigerian dwarf goat who has no trouble eating browse or hay, but can get choked on some types of goat feed. Though he doesn't technically have to have supplemental feed, he still gets a small amount when I feed my other boy. This textured feed has been a great option for both goats. They both like it and eat it readily, but more importantly, my elderly goat eats it with no issues, and the little guy is not having the frequent choking issues he had been having with the pelleted feed I was using.

Feed looks and smells fresh and the goats do like it. It's definitely nicer than plain pelleted sweet feed, but the ingredients are inferior to (the more expensive) Kalmbach textured feed. First main ingredients of this Nutrena feed are "Grain Products, Plant Protein Products, Processed Grain By-Products, Molasses Products" and Kalmbach's are "Steam Flaked Corn, Oats, Cracked Corn, Wheat Middlings, Soybean Meal, Soybean Hulls, Corn Distillers Dried Grains, Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Roasted Soybeans, Steam Rolled Barley, Canola Meal, Flaxseed Meal, Molasses Products." Both contain ammonia chloride, which is a plus for our boys, but Kalmbach is much higher in copper, which is essential. You get what you pay for.

Nutrena Textured goat feed seems to be of good quality and my Lamancha goats had no issues with consuming it. I didn't notice any changes good or bad while they were eating it compared to their regular diet. I feel that it would meet the nutritional needs of most breeds of goats so if you're in the market for a good palatable textured feed for goats I'd recommend giving it a try.

You can really tell the difference in a great quality feed vs your typical farm store brand feed. The texture and variety of grains in this feed is outstanding and my goats seem to really enjoy the crunchy bits (or maybe I just enjoy the sound of them crunching on the crunchy bits). The food is super fresh and just the right amount of moist - not at all sticky, but not dry either. The goats and I recommend this feed.

The Nutrena 17% textured grain is awesome. We have three senior retiree goats. They are former dairy /show does. This grain is very sweet and easy for them to chew. All of them are picky eaters at this stage of their life and they dive into this feed. It’s a well balanced feed, too.

I have 4 Nigerian Dwarf goats that I switched from feed to hay and timothy pellets several years ago to control their weight. I decided to try this since hay quality isn't so good right now. They seemed to like this feed but I will give as a daily “treat” only. Please read and follow directions carefully if your goats are not accustomed to a sweet type feed. Also, DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP or any other animal. I hope this will help.
