I needed a harness that would allow me to lift my dog and assist with outdoor steps. This was way more than I needed. Due to the straps that go around the hind legs, this did not work since she is recovering from ACL surgery. We tried but did not feel comfortable using this. We are donating to our local veterinary. Hoping it may help an elderly dog!

We bought this for our corgi who is recovering from a herniated disc. The design (full-body sleeve with rear leg loops) seems more effective than the ones that are made up of a zillion thin straps and I think helps stabilize and support her back more. It fits well (size small for a 30 lb corgi) and is sturdy and well made. Although there are a lot of buckles and snaps, and it takes a little extra time to get on and off, it also has a lot of convenient handles, plus the long strap that can be attached in a couple of ways to help with lifting and steering. Our dog seems to find the rear leg loops a little awkward, but they can also just be looped under the lower abdomen and clipped to create an alternative sling configuration or removed altogether. Helping a dog sling-walk is awkward in the first place, but this harness does help some and I anticipate putting our dog in it more regularly once she starts walking more.

This harness served its purpose when my dog was having a hard time getting up with her hind legs for a while due to a temporary health issue. She is around 65 lbs, and I had no worries about the harness holding almost 100% of her weight a few times. However, this harness cannot and should not be left on a dog unattended who is lying down and has any kind of weakness. The neck section was way too wide and stiff, so when my dog laid her head down, it was basically pressing into her throat and neck arteries. Not ok. Also, there for sure should be clips somewhere on the neck section for easy removal in general because having to slip this over my dogs neck to remove the entire harness was not easy and seemed uncomfortable for my dog. Also, although I understand that the clips on the sides need to be big to be able to be strong enough to hold a lot of weight, the location meant, once again, that the harness cannot and should not be left on dogs while they lie down because the clips press into the sides, and the heavier the dog, the more they will press. For times when the support of the harness is needed, this is a good harness. But, it should never be left on a dog who is lying down for more than a few seconds.

We used this post TPLO surgery for carrying pup up and down the stairs. It fit well and was adjustable where needed without having too many straps and spots to monkey with. The strap at the neck and back were also helpful for lifting all 70 lbs of Gracie. Seems to be quality made, I never had an issue with weak spots or anything like that. Training tip: I would recommend practicing lifting and carrying before surgery if possible!

This harness is very well made. Unfortunately, the small was not as small as the measurements indicated and did not fit my dog. His measurements fell within, and pretty much smack dab in the middle of, the measurements provided, yet it couldn't be adjusted well enough to fit him. I would suggest assuming the for will be bigger than expected if you have a smaller dog.

Love it.
A life saver for after tplo surgery. Just wish I had it sooner. I will be saving it for anything that may happen in the future.

This support harness lived up to its name. It provides complete and strong support in the most strategic spots; shoulders, ribs and hips. It enabled my dog to enjoy the out of doors while sparing my lower back pain. And the price is so reasonable. It was easy to put on as I rolled my paralyzed german shepherd.
