My 2 year old cat Skittles loves Opti- Meal Shrimp & Salmon flavor. It has nice big chunks of the ingredients and has a generous helping of sauce as well. The serving sizes are large. It's amazing to me that the cat food doesn't smell fishy at all. I'm sure the higher quality of ingredients had everything to do with that. Although chunky, the cat food is easily eaten by my cat. The pieces are tender and you certainly don't need a magnifying glass to identify them. Skittles eats it eagerly and it always hoping for seconds. When we had our "photo shoot" for this review, I had to work hard to have any left because "the star" kept eating the props! As you can see in the picture, Skittles thinks it's good to the last lick and rates it a solid 5 out of 5. stars, 4 paws up!

There is enough food in this one pouch for all 3 kids to have breakfast. My kids are older, 13, 15, 16 and usually don't like to chew, preferring pate, however, they all loved OPTI MEAL. I was shocked, they cleared their plates! I will be adding this into the wet food rotation!

Quality ingredients

After trying shrimp and salmon flavored optimeal packs, I was surprised to see the first ingredient was actually chicken broth! Honestly that was kinda disappointing

After trying shrimp and salmon flavored optimeal packs, I was surprised to see the first ingredient was actually chicken broth! Honestly that was kinda disappointing as I usually like the 1st ingredient to be a meat' so I was expecting the 1st ingredient to be either shrimp or salmon based on name of product. I personally like some grains in my pet food, but usually it's more important to me in my dog food than in cat food. Overall, I thought the ingredients seemed fairly decent. I thought there were still quite a few that I didn't really know what they were, but the 1st 10 I was familiar with. My cat's love soft food and this one was no exception. They absolutely loved it and gobbled it up in a matter of a few minutes. I'm not sure if I will switch to this cat food permanently. I thought it was a little expensive for its 1st ingredient being chicken broth. I definitely would buy it again however if it were on sale or at a good price point.

I have 3, finicky about their wet food, cats. Two of them would not even taste the morsels, the third one ate it but not with the enthusiasm she usually eats wet

I have 3, finicky about their wet food, cats. Two of them would not even taste the morsels, the third one ate it but not with the enthusiasm she usually eats wet seafood cat food. So I threw a package into the Ninja and ground it up. That seems to have made a difference. I know Trouble has issues chewing (she has a dental appt on 5/13) but she ate the ground up food. Just a thought in case your cats don't want to eat it. I did give a bowl of the morsels to neighbors cat who visits and she just loved it! The ingredients seem to be healthy, consisting of chicken broth and animal parts with added minerals and vitamins.

Gandalf goes wild when I open these! He devours the pouch so quickly. He usually likes wet food with higher protein and these have a lot. The ingredients seem to be quality and I feel good about feeding them to my cat. Gandalf would definitely order again and give 10/10 for flavor!
