I have two cats who eat a variety of flavors and after nibbling on one chew each they won't touch them. If I crumble them into their wet food they won't eat any of it. The pieces are too large to begin with and they don't break down enough to feed them any other way. Very disappointed as my cats need the Lysine for eye problems. A big waste of money. Would not recommend.
Tried several lysine treats for my older cat, these are the clear winner! After the stress of moving and being in boarding, my senior cat (who had a serious URI as a kitten) developed congestion and goopy nose. These seem to be helping greatly.
I really appreciate that one chew contains 500mg of l-lysine which makes it much easier for both me and my cat to handle. With other brands, I had to feed several chews just to equal the amount of this one chew. Also, these treats stay soft and my cat seems to like the taste as well. These chews keep helping my cat's eyes from conjunctivitis flare ups. I'm thankful for this brand and will continue to get them due to its higher concentration in each chew. Definitely better than other lysine supplements.
I bought these for my cat, "C". She does not like them but is the one with eye care needs. However, the cat who doesn't need eye care support, loves them. Since it is a treat, there is no real way to force feed it so maybe different flavors would help? I am only aware of this 1 flavor.
All three of my FELV+ cats love these treats! This brand was recommended by our vet to boost their immune system to help combat FELV+ symptoms. One of the three will not eat it unless I throw it so she can chase it. I think now it has become a game. At first, I would break these up into smaller chunks, but they kind of like going after the big bite and chewing off smaller pieces. Love the quality and love the fact that they’re made in Canada where the quality of cat food / treats is typically top notch.
These are quite large. They are soft and seem chewy. At first my cat wouldn't eat them. Then he did. Both whole, he would take bites off of it, and broken up. Now he won't touch it. My other cat who doesn't have eye discharge or sneezing will eat them!
I tried a few other brands before this. My kittens only like these. One of these a day. They take like treats. They make a big difference with their sneezing. I think the ingredients are the same as other brands but....my kittens like this.
We have three FHV-positive cats but only the younger two have symptoms. Our 6 month old kitten had the runny eyes, sneezing and constantly dirty nose whilst the 7 year old cat just had a runny eye from time to time. I was using another L-lysine supplement product for the kitten, ever since we adopted him from the shelter, but it was only reducing his symptoms and the 7 y.o. refused to have anything to do with the product. Wanting to be able to treat both cats at the same time without shuffling products I ordered the Optixcare L-Lysine cat chews. Both cats love them. The seven year old's eyes are never runny anymore and the kitten's symptoms are all but gone. It's so much easier to dose the cats when they think they are simply getting a treat. The individual chews could be a tad bit smaller but both cat and kitten manage just fine. I will be buying this product monthly from here on out.
My cat who has IBS and now asthma was given these when he got an upper respiratory infection. With his IBS, these don’t upset my cat’s stomach & he loves them. I ordered some more from chewy to help my cat recover from how sick he’s been with his congestion. Great purchase, they are bigger treats but aren’t super crunchy/hard.
My cat, Wybee, has upper-respiratory problems and so I bought these, per recommendation of Lysine by vet. Wybee would not go near these. I tried putting them in wet food, dry food, and breaking them into pieces. No luck. Would not recommend, especially since they’re not the cheapest.
