Why does it really mean to be “certified biobased”? Are they made with plants, and if so are they non-GMO? Do the bags have a shelf life?

This item is USDA Certified Biobased at 38% plant matter. The Original Poop Bags does not have insights into whether or not they are non-GMO. They source the stalks, fibers and oils from farming by-products, not the crops themselves. This product should be fine for 3 years, but if kept in extreme heat, light, moisture, or adverse conditions, the bags will begin to break down naturally by exposure to the elements.

So disappointed in this brand. This was my go-to bag, but the manufacturer sold out and now makes the bag with 67% petroleum based plastic. The new recipe is NOT
