What is the carbohydrate content of this formula? no salt ? Are there synthetics supplements (vitamins & nutrients) or are they all natural ?
Answer by • May 16, 2022
The ORIJEN Amazing Grains Regional Red formula contains 18% carbohydrates as fed, or 20% on a dry matter basis. As this diet is brand new, ORIJEN doesn't have the full typical analysis available quite yet. This means we cannot provide the typical sodium value at this time.

What size are the pellets?
Answer by • Jul 27, 2022
This diet offers a medium-sized kibble that is appropriate for most breed sizes. There will be some natural variation with kibble size, but the approximate size is 14 millimeters in diameter.
Does this contain ash, and if so how much?
Answer by • Dec 19, 2022
This variety contains approximately 10% Ash content on an as fed basis.
My English Setter is a very picky dog, he seems to like this food, I always use a topper of some type too. The main thing is that I feel good about feeding this brand, it is so important to feed a quality food and like the choice of grains too!

The jury is still out but Luna liked it.
I normally rotate through another brands flavors, and not that Luna doesn't like it, I just like giving her a variety and decided to try Orijen Amazing Grains. She really liked it. We went through this bag in half the time that the other brand would last. What I question is the amount of salt or sodium in the product. After eating her meal (maybe 2 cups pf this food), Luna would drink a whole bowl of water afterward (about 3-4 cups).

caused diarrhea
My dogs love the taste of this food, and I slowly switched them over. Once I got over 50% orijen, they started getting loose stool. At 75% it became diarrhea. I thought that they just needed to adjust. After a few more days, I decided I needed to switch back. I did a lot more research and learned that orijen adds a lot more filler than they used to, to their foods. Like I said, I slowly switched them over starting at 10% for 3-4 days, then going to 25,40,75 percent. The whole process took me 3-4 weeks, and they just didn’t adjust.

Questionable
My dog seemed to like the 1st bag but it’s been a struggle with the 2nd and especially the 3rd bag. I’ll likely have to switch him. Also, I was hoping these ingredients would help with the yeast build up (ears) but it’s an ongoing battle.

Tasty and great ingredients
My 2 yr old Aussie loves this food. I did a taste test with this and 2 of the Go Solutions skin and coat flavors and this was the clear winner. I love their whole prey methodology and Im glad they have this option with grains. Great product!

A very high quality kibble
I had been looking for a high quality kibble for my 18 month old working GSD for a long time! I had tried numerous brands even tried some of the fresh alternatives which for me are extremely expensive, but do offer good quality. My dog is extremely high energy and doesn’t really have an “off switch” and as such has had more than his fair share of GI issues in his young life. We finally determined he could not tolerate chicken or turkey or duck, nothing with feathers as the protein source. He also can not tolerate blueberries, yes you read that correctly, something as good as blueberries twists his GI tract up terribly. This Orijen is one of very few kibble recipes that have no fowl and no blueberries and he absolutely loves it! The protein is very high quality and there are some grains to ensure he gets the taurine he needs as well. If I had one issue with the recipe I would say it’s with the addition of the mackerel fish, while I understand the need for the oils for omega’s I would rather see salmon used instead. He seems to be doing well his poop’s are for the most part firmish and there is about 25-30 percent less of it so I believe he is absorbing more of the nutrients. The price is about what you would expect to pay for food of this quality and about 50 percent less than the “subscription” based “fresh” foods.

Reticent Beagle Loves This Food
I recently adopted a beagle of about a year to a year and a half old from SPCA. I rotated through two other foods and he would eat them, but just wasn't excited about mealtime. He would just kind of saunter over and pick at the food. I finally transferred over to this food and he runs for the food bowl and wolfs it down. I can even use this food as treats he loves it so much! His coat and movements have been healthy as well so I think this food is a grand slam.

Quality food for English Bulldogs
Our 6.5 yr old English Bulldog seems to enjoy this new food, as her previous diet consisted of salmon with rice. She has tolerated the food very well, as I continue to mix it with her previous dry food. Orijen amazing grains regional red is an excellent quality dog food and our new go to!!!
