Feeding a 9 yr old female and a 4 yr old male rott
It got to where I couldn't get livers and chicken gizzards and my male got to where he wouldn't eat his veggies so I decided to try the fit and trim and both love it we r on WK 2 and I throw in a handful of gizzards as I have them again and sent my vet the list of ingredients and he was super impressed told me it would be a outstanding food for both till I could afford to get a bag of senior food there poops r better than when they were on the raw diet
NEW to our girl
Switching from Prescription Science Hill dry dog food, (14%) protein..to Orijen Fit and Trim 43% protein..that's a BIG deal folks! My girl Shelly Bean has been consuming the SH prescribed by her vet for just over a year now..and has lost 8 lbs. I just can't continue this..just out of good conscience..basically the first ingredient is wheat flour. Yes, wheat flour..I mean, do they understand that flour SPIKES insulin..which sets off a whole host of other physical problems? But, hey, she's losing weight right? So, out of concern for her health, not just her weight, I switched. I love the ingredient list in this Origen, AND, that my girl is not consuming wood pulp fibers to help her to be 'full'. Breaking down what we were previously giving her, with her added chicken and veggies..we are doing a calorie comparison to help her maintain that loss. It's working!!! She LOVES her food, and I, as her mama, know that she is getting better nutrients, better FOOD, to maintain her health in her later years.
So Far So Good
I just got this food recently and I am in the transitioning time with it. The food that he was eating was rated 20 for protein and this is 42. So I am doing it really slowly, as recommended by Origen. But thank you for getting it to me quickly and on time —as always!
picky dog approved
My rescued lab is such a picky eater, we have tried so many different versions of food. I went on a whim to see if she would try this since the first 10 ingredients are all natural. Usually I’ll have to put something yummy over her food for her to even look at it. I opened the bag and she was nose first in it… I gave her a little taste test and she was all about it. She ate the food DRY! And wanted more… my friends and vet said not to feed grain free diets so we will see
An excellent dog food, but pricey.
I have tried many different dog foods for my dog, Mia. she had Parvo when she was about 1, and was hospitalized for 8 days. She had a very sensitive stomach for a long time, but has done very well on this food. I mix the fit and trim with the original, and she seems to enjoy it. And, her stomach troubles are under control.
I have a Spitz that was adopted out of the meat markets in S Korea. She was 3 when I got her, she is robust but has a sensitive stomach and this really fits her needs.
Kibbles look dryer and a lighter color
Not sure if because it's a less fatty formula, the color of the kibbles is lighter than the Orijen Puppy blend and the Senior blend and seems to be dryer than both as well. Checked the expiration date on the bag and still got over a year left. My senior dog still likes it.
Finally found the one
We have been struggling to find a good food for our boy who needs to lose weight. We had many digestive issues on other foods or our dogs would refuse to eat. Our giant breed Kylo is now so excited to eat every day and has smaller, firmer poops that stink WAY less (so happy about this). He has also showed better mobility, increased energy and has been losing weight a lot better. I was hesitant to try Orijen but I am so glad I did.
another bites the dust
Finally received my dogs food today (after 4 delayed deliveries) and I’m soo sorry to say that she didn’t like this one..she’s a picky eater very very picky eater was hoping she would like it but No she didn’t..but thank you Orijen for the Original bag of ORIJEN ORIGINAL, that one she does love..!! I will donate this one bag of “Fit & Trim Orijen “ to the humane society for this will help feed more dogs in need of a meal..!! Thank you Chewy.!!
My dog has loved this food for a long time so I finally caved on the largest size bag and now he won’t touch it. There isn’t an advertised formula change but something is off clearly. Very costly mistake.
