The manufacturer makes their foods out of two state-of-the-art kitchens. Their NorthStar Kitchen located in Alberta, Canada produces food for Canada, Europe, and surrounding countries, Africa, and Asia. Their DogStar Kitchens located in Kentucky, USA service the USA and South America. ORIJEN focus when sourcing ingredients has always been on using ingredients from suppliers they know and trust. Part of this commitment is choosing suppliers with the technical expertise and discipline to give us the best ingredients available. While they do not source ingredients directly from China, some of their B vitamins are made with raw materials that originate in China. This would apply to vitamins B1 and B6, and is consistent throughout the pet food industry. They require that any vitamin components sourced from China must be human grade, and as such they undergo intensive testing to ensure the purity of the ingredient and accuracy of the blend.

Happy Fat dog loses weight

My 13 year old dog weighed 100 lbs, has heart disease and fatty tumors. I was desperate to help him so I ordered Orijen because it has 47% protein meat products. He doesn't whine for food all day any longer. He sleeps through the night and he is eating less. He us half way through the 15 lb bag and doing great. I can't weigh him but he looks slimmer to me.

Transitioning

Our two golden have put on a few pounds so we decided to switch to a food to help weight control. The Origen fit and trim looked like the best choice. We are close to fully transitioning to it. So far it’s gone very smoothly our girls love it and there hasn’t been any issues. Our older girl has had a few digestive issues with some foods in the past but none with Origen.

Orijen Fit and Trim

My aging boxer needs to lose weight due to arthritis. I thought this would be an excellent choice. Unfortunately, despite excellent reviews and a stellar list of ingredients, my dog doesn't like it. I think it is the "fishy" smell that puts her off. Not sure.

Expensive but worth it

I've been using Orijen for our 14 year old dog for several years and went to something else due to price increases. I've now gone back as I've seen the difference in naturally sourced ingredients. For as long as we're blessed to have him, we'll use Orijen Fit and Trim.

Wouldn't recommend

This food made our dogs sick. I've spent 3 days cleaning up vomit and diarrhea. Worst purchase ever.

Great quality

Can be hard to find in store all the time but glad I switched to purchasing on chewy. Great quality dog food. We love This brand and Just switched our dog to the fit and trim. It has really kept her weight low.

Fit and Lean and Original Chicken dog food

Have used this food for my dogs... very consistent. Dog never has had an issue eating the food. His stool is firm but not hard, never loose. Nothing is ever left in the bowl. I mix the original chicken with Fit and lean. Great product.

Great food

I bought this food for my Great Pyrenees, German Shepherd, & Siberian husky. My pyrenees and shepherd love the food but my picky husky refused ALL of Orijen food and will only eat Purina Pro Plan original chicken dry food. However, my pyrenees and shepherd are the two who have had surgery on their leg (TPLO) and cannot run like they used to. I follow the feeding instructions for their weight and they have both lost some extra lbs! I am very happy with this food! Might not be best for picky huskies but overall it is very healthy and will help your pup lose weight. I tried the fancy prescription weight loss diets the vet recommended and those didn't work as well as Orijen fit & trim!

Smelly food, smelly farts and smelly breath

I was recommended this brand of food from a lot of online sources. I’ve heard that this brand uses some of the best ingredients so I wanted to give my dog one of the best dry foods. While my dog loves the taste of the food, I don’t think it sits well with him. His stool is good, he was transitioned on it properly, however his gas is horrendous. On top of that this food has made his breath smell so awful. The kibble itself has a very strong smell so it explains the bad breath. I have noticed him looking leaner on this food, however I don’t think I will be purchasing this kind again.
