When switching diets, it's important to transition your cat or kitten as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ORIJEN. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ORIJEN, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ORIJEN.
So first, starting off the ingredients are absolutely amazing. The closest you can get to a raw diet. I wanted to go for wet food and I love that they also have the option but unfortunately my cat just doesn’t like wet food so this dry food is such a lifesaver with the ingredients. We just adopted her and she was originally on cat chow, which if you’re familiar with it is pretty bad ingredients. The minute we put a bowl of this on the ground. She absolutely devoured it. the other food, a whole entire cup, sat there for a whole week. She will refuse to eat it. So I am very glad that we found this food, and will absolutely be sticking to it for the rest of her life, and hopefully will be able to include some wet food later on down the road to get some more moisture in her diet. They’re wet food. Look to have a very good ingredients also.
You can read the ingredients and know it is good quality. My daughter found a 5 week old kitten running down a major road and brought him home. The polydactyl has grown rapidly and looks like a sleek soft panther with such muscle on this food. We have never had a cat on this food before but you can tell the difference in how he has grown.
I really wanted to love this. It's excellent food, so I slowly mixed with my current dry from the breeder. Immediately, the odor and consistency of their stool changed. Went back to original kibble, it cleared up. After a week, gave them a few pieces, and it happened again. We use Acana wet food, so I thought this would be a good choice. The kittens loved it, it didn't love them. I will be donating it.
My kitten had no trouble adjusting to this brand. I was totally impressed by the quality ingredients this food offers. It is pricey but you get what you pay for and my "Boots" is worth it.
My twin 6 month old Siamese kittens can’t get enough of this. We’ve tried other types of kibble and wet food but they just wouldn’t finish their bowl. After switching to Orijen anytime they hear the bag move they run up to us and meow like crazy and try to stick their heads in it.
The kittens first dry food, just to fill in the chinks of the wet, and they enjoyed like treats. The 3 adults reallllly like it. The Queen took to it and very nourishing.
my kitten loves the food. It was recommended by local pet store. I will continue to purchase Orijen products for her. Keeping her healthy and fit for a long life
Ansel (17) got really sick about 2 months ago, and I changed ALL his foods in an effort to get him interested in eating again. He decided he only wanted pate, and was rejecting kibble, so I bought Orijen kitten kibble to try as the pieces are smaller and the ingredients are better than most other dry foods. He absolutely loves this kibble! So, I'm happy if he's happy. He gets very excited when I open this bag of food :)
This cat food is a great option for your average kitty. My 6 month old cat loves this food and I feel really confident in feeding it to him! Love seeing the first at least 10 ingredients being real animal meat.
My 4 year old cat 'Socks' often seemed restless and not in playful way. Vet said to try different foods. Socks often threw up his food. Tried all kinds. He hates soft food. He is VERY PICKY about food. On the first try he ate this product like a very hungry cat. He slept longer and has been calmer. He allows us to pet him more often. He throws up his food on rare occasion now. Such as if bad weather and lightning is strong. His fur is so much softer and shiny now too. Feels like mink.
