Transition Instructions

When switching diets, it's important to transition your cat or kitten as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ORIJEN. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ORIJEN, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ORIJEN.

    Best dry food

By Steph on Oct 29, 2021

I’ve heard good things about this brand and decided to switch up. The moment it arrived I gave my cat a taste test and OMG he practically inhaled it! He is usually not big on dry food. He eats it as a snack or to get by the day until he receives his next portion of wet food. But this dry food changed him. He absolutely loves it. I love that the it contains really great ingredients for him as well! Definitely sticking to this brand from now on.

    The best dry cat food!

By Debora on Oct 23, 2021

I had my cat on guardian 8 since day one that it came out, that was three months ago. The quality of this food is amazing, fresh raw ingredients, high protein, low cabs and very tasty. My cat devours it. she's been on Orijen before, most recently I had her on Ziwi provenance line of dry food but it was discontinue. I decided to put her back on Orijen after that, and glad I did. I furminated her this morning and my goodness her black coat is so shiny and soft, will highly recommend.

    Cats' choice in taste test

By LindaA on Sep 26, 2021

One of my 2 cats had been eating dry food, then hurling. Thought I'd try "sensitive digestion" food to see if it helped. I bought 3 small bags to do a taste test, as one cat is VERY particular. I put out 3 bowls with equal amounts of Orijen Guardian 8 Free Run Chicken, Wild Caught Salmon, and Rabbit, Wellness Core Digestive Health Wholesome Grains Chicken and Rice, and Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Turkey and Oat Meal. While I think they're probably all good foods, my particular cats clearly chose Orijen during the taste-off. The next morning the Orijen dish was empty, while the other 2 dishes had food remaining. No one has thrown up lately, but it might be too early to tell on that One of my 2 cats had been eating dry food, then hurling. Thought I'd try "sensitive digestion" food to see if it helped. Top ingredients

    By Kmc38 on Oct 29, 2021 top1000Contributor

My cat is 6 years old and she has had acana and orijen in the past, always with good results. She has recently started on this formula , I alternate between grain inclusive and grain free each bag and it was time for a grain free so I chose this formula. She picked this food out over the pieces from her old food.

This brand is lying to you.

By Cameron on Sep 12, 2021

This brand can be misleading and in some ways. Lie to your face. You look on the package, It tells you Chicken, Salmon and Rabbit. Please take a moment to locate Rabbit on the ingredients label. Notice how it's so far down the lable, There is going to be next to no Rabbit in your catfood. It's just enough Rabbit, They can get away with call it a Rabbit recipe. This brand has swept some nasty stuff under the rug over the years, And they started as a good company. But as time went on, Their slowly changing into a less honest company. Very disappointed Orijen my former favorite cat food brand has really been going down hill.

    Quality Food

    By Geordie33 on Aug 31, 2021

We adopted a pair of kittens in December, and have been feeding them Orijen foods since then. One of the kittens has some digestive issues, and the Guardian 8 has digestive health as one of its benefits. They are finishing their second bag of the Guardian 8, and it was been working very well for them. They really like the food, they are active with shiny fur, and the digestive issues are improving too. My adult cats also like the food.

    Picky Cat Approves

By MrBub on Sep 22, 2021

My senior picky cat gobbled this down like he hadn't been fed for a week for the first few offerings of this dry food. Haha! He continues to eat it, but doesn't seem as thrilled about it. But isn't that the life of a picky cat? Regardless, I like that it has good ingredients. :)

Perfect for the picky kitties in your life

By Casken on Oct 15, 2021

Our cats are very particular about the food they will eat. I want one that's good for them, they want tasty morsels. This is the perfect food. It is pricey but I'm not wasting money on food they won't eat.

Not as good as original orijen

    By Pk06 on Nov 5, 2021

My 5 cats did not like this orijen flavor. They do however like the other flavors. Just thought we might try something new, but paws down on this flavor.

    It’s an okay food

By Jade on Oct 11, 2021

I have one picky eater and to her it’s just eh… The other one won’t eat anything but it. We tried the tundra one as well, but no one would eat that one.
